The Algorithm Set Progress Thread

ZBLL Update:

Been a bit, but I just finished another COLL set, bringing me to 48/72 for the T set. Only 4 more algs until the halfway point! All I have left is two COLL sets in T, and all of L, Sune, and Antisune. I think I’ll just shove four more algs into my brain to say I’m halfway, then spend a decent chunk of time practicing to make sure I know everything really well before moving on.
Edit - just learned four more, officially halfway done!!

ZBLL update:

Been slacking off on practice quite a bit. Today I went through all my cases and starred the ones I had trouble with—turns out that’s nearly a quarter of all the cases I’ve learned, so I’ll have to practice those ones specifically to make sure I know everything. i want to finish up the T cases, but I don’t want to force the last two sets before I’m totally comfortable with everything else.

They're all in my head again :D I did a timed session with all of em on my Giiker just now, and my average time has slowed to 7.10, including recognition—but considering that's 50% of ZBLL, I'm cool with it.

Gunna jump on this train if its still chugging. Instead of ZBLL I'm going to be learning CMLL for OH. The twist is that I'm going to run through and hand test multiple algs to find the one which works best for me :)

Times are Ao50
J-Perm:
1. R U2 R' U' R U2 L' U R' U' L
Standard OH alg. Prefer it to standard J-Perm and other <RUF> versions.

Y-Perm:
1. F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F'
2. R U2 R' U2 F' R U' R' x U R' U' R U x'
3. R U' R' U x U' R' U2 R U R' U R U2 R' U' R U x'
Lost the times for comparison but 2 won by a significant margin.

H Columns:
1. R U2 R' U' R U R' U' R U' R'
Standard alg. There are some inverses/variations but there pretty much all the same.

H Front Row:
1. (U') R U R' U R U L' U R' U' L
Standard alg. Same deal as the previous

H Right Bar:
1. (U) F R U' R' U R U2 R' U' R U R' U' F' (3.89)
2. (U') F R U R' U' R U' R' U R U R' F' (3.87)
3. (U') x' U' R U' R' U R U2 L' U R' U2 r (4.04)
1 and 2 were very close. Went with 2 since it's a move shorter. Oddly, fastest single was with 3.

H Rows:
1. F R U R' U' R U R' U' R U R' U' F'
Standard alg.. duh

I'm still learning 4LLL., and I'm having trouble recognising sunes and antisunes. For the record, I do my sunes and antisunes backwards (R' U' R U' R' U2 R and R' U2 R U R' U R)

ZBLL Update:

Haven't learned any new algs in a while, but I've made sure not to forget any! Did a lot of practice yesterday. Sometimes I blank on an alg and have to look it up, but not often, and generally my recognition is satisfactory. Once I'm 100% sure I'm comfortable with all my algs, I'll more on and learn the L set.

Ooh, a cool thread I didn't know about (yet? anymore?)
Today, I revised the 164 ZBLLs that I have learnt so far (185 including PLL but I don't revise those anymore haha). This includes all Pi cases, all 2GLLs and the T and L cases for which the usual OLL alg gives a CP skip.
I try to learn 12 ZBLLs (i.e. 1 set) a day except weekends, but occasionally take a day (or a week sometimes lol) off, and sometimes learn 2 sets a day if I have time to spare. I usually put my ZBLL progress in my progression thread, but I'll be sure to post here every now and then.

I have decided that instead of just learning the H, Pi, T, L, and U subsets of 2GLL I will also learn the Sune and Antisune cases. In speedsolving with almost any method it hinders your speed if you do the LL in 2 looks rather than 1. I might end up learning CPLS too but I will have to think about it.
