So, winter break is coming up and I want to grind. Right now, J average around mid 12 on a normal day. I want to become sub 10 by february for western champs.
I will ask for help on this thread.
So I’m making this thread because I’m kind of bored. (I’m slow) Also people can post on this thread and by beginner last layer I mean 4 look last layer. I started cubing in early December of 2023
This is going to be my new Progression thread, as i didn’t use the other one really. I am definitely going to update this on a weekly base, and maybe more often. I will give y’all an overview of my averages later this week, probably before friday
This is for personal use, I'd like to keep a timeline of things and update my progress for my own satisfaction.
Background/starting point: started cubing in 2009 with a pyraminx I got for Christmas, then from the tutorial pamphlet that came with the regular cube. Found out about WCA/cfop/other...

I don't know how to do a progression thread. I guess I'll start by saying that right now I am grinding 2x2 because my 3x3 broke and I want to do good at my next comp. I just broke my PB single (it is now 1.00). Please help me on what to actually do in this thread.
Edit:
I do 2x2, 3x3, 4x4...
Are you learning an algorithm set like ZBLL, EG, or even just OLL? Post progress updates here!
Personally, I’m learning full ZBLL. I’m done with Pi and I’m pretty comfortable with it. Today I’ll be finishing up the H set which is exciting :)
I want some advice for cubing. I want to average sub 20 on 3x3, sub 4 on 2x2, sub 2:00 on 4x4, sub 8 on pyra, and sub 10 on skewb. I don't really care about OH or clock, but if you have good advice, please tell me. I would love to hear the amazing recommendations that the pro and average cubers...
Hi guys,
I decided to do one of these as well.
I got into cubing again a few weeks ago.
I started with relearning the f2l concepts and 4LLL. Once I got that I started leraning the PLL‘s again which is going pretty well.
I‘m currently learning the last 4 PLL (g perms)
My pb is around 22 seconds...
hello there!
i've decided to get better at squan since it is one of my main events, (the other being 3x3)
ill try to update this thread as much as I can and currently I avg around 20-25 and every like 5-10 solves a sub 20. my times are *very* consistent (sarcasm)
but anyway, rn I'm memorizing...
So basically after I made an XXCross and easy WV case on orange cross and ended up with a 20.77, I decided that I would try become colour neutral. I will post my current times on each cross colour (I’m white-yellow CN already) and see if you guys can give tips or something idk.
