Oh god :D Alright. I like having a goal because it's easier for me to focus and improve. Otherwise I jump around on different little things. anyway, are the L6E usually the most difficult for people when learning Roux? That and block building I assume. Which do you think is more "important"?

not really sure, i guess the first two blocks require far more skill to master than LSE which is pretty much the algs with some tricks here and there. Learning wise the LSE is easier because it's just like learning algs but the movecounts are 3 moves.

What the hell?

Average of 5: 12.49

2. (19.48) L2 U2 F' L2 B F2 L2 F2 D2 R2 D2 L' F' D F2 R2 U' F D' B2 U2
3. 13.31 F2 U' R2 F' R B D' L' F' L D2 B2 U2 L2 U B2 D L2 U' R2 U'
4. 12.01 R2 F2 L2 D L2 U' L2 U B2 D B' R F2 L' F2 U2 B' R2 D
5. (11.89) B' U2 F U2 R2 B' R2 B' R2 F' D' B F' D' U2 R D B2 F2 U

I don't know how I did that...

Moreover, average of 12: 14.03, which is not bad either.

To preface, this will probably seem ridiculous to you...
So I was using CFOP and a couple days ago started learning Roux. I'm averaging about 45 but I feel like I'm doing something wrong with the block building. For the most part I just build the blocks in Fridrich F2L fashion. I'm aware I should be doing this differently but I'm not sure how.

Look at reconstructions here to see some ways to build blocks without doing it cross piece --> 2 F2L pairs:

http://cubesolv.es/?solver=&competition=&puzzle=&time-specifier=&time-value=&tags=roux

Then force yourself to build blocks this way rather than the CFOP way until you're comfortable with it. Sometimes the CFOP way will be more efficient, but once you're used to block-building, you'll realise that that's not often the case. A big thing to get the hang of is learning to move centres as if they were any other kind of piece during your first block.

hey rouxbros
i just switched and with cfop i avg around 23 secs, this i can hardly get sub 50 lol
but i know how speed goes, and ill get quick real soon.
the real problem for me is,for big cube solving, can you really do roux?
i know to be goot at 4x4 you need sub 15 3x3 stage, and since middle slices are kinda clunky on bigger cubes(atleast for me,even if its with a good cube i just cant seem to turn em well)
i was wondering, will i have to practise both cfop and roux?
i haven't gotten sub20 with 1 method till now let alone 2

Roux is not really comfortable for big cubes, but there are Roux-like big cube methods, like K4.

dayum
oh well,i guess ill stick to cfop simply for that reason.
but i am determined to get my roux to atleast sub 30 cause i love that method

I am sub25 and I just did a AO100 of First Block(with no limit on inspection) and got a little above 4 secs. With 15-sec inspection time, I get somewhere between 6 and 7 secs. Is it good?

from what i can see, your first two blocks is about 15-16 seconds, and CMLL and LSE is about 10 seconds? Just keep practicing everything. Practice your first block with no limit inspection until no limit inspections becomes less than 15 seconds. maybe start looking at one look CMLL.

I have just one question, I am beginning to learn Roux (it's more fun imo) but I use the oll and pll for corners as I do Fridrich LL but since I know u have the freedom of M slices are there easier ways to do corners and I'm wondering if 1 look corners exist for Roux, couldn't find anything on the web. Thanks!

Thanks and Yes, my F2B are around 16 seconds. But, I feel my second blocks are inefficient and slow. I do the SB in CFOP style.(Pair an edge with the center and insert two pairs). Is there any other efficient way to do that?

BTW, I'm learning 1-Look CMLL but I don't have a fast execution(I can recognize it easily though). May be, I should drill those algs.

Don't worry about fast execution on CMLL yet; that will develop naturally. Focus on smooth turning with little lock ups and good recognition. The second block make sure you are not doing any cube rotations, F or B moves. There are many tricks for creating the second block efficiently that involve utilizing r, M, and cancellation moves. Maybe post one of your solves an people will give some suggestions or look at http://cubesolv.es/?solver=&competition=&puzzle=&time-specifier=&time-value=&tags=roux for some inspiration.

I don't use cube rotations and F and B moves. I usually hide the edge in M-Slice and pair it up with a corner and the use R or r moves to insert it. But, I use cube rotations during FB and CMLL if it is required. After, I finish CMLL, I don't even regrip during LSE.
