Roux help

I am rather new to Roux. I have started using roux 2 weeks ago, and now is starting to get the gist of what the roux method is. Two days ago I am getting sub-50 solves; now most of the time i can achieve sub-40 with some solves requiring at most 45 seconds. My personal best is 32 seconds, with occasional 33-35 second solves. I have practised quite a lot, but still i could not get past the sub-30 barrier. Any tips on roux?

P.S. My solves are usually
10-15-5-10
and if i am fast i get
8-10-5-8

Practice a lot. No deliberate practice is neededfor roux until you are trying for sub 20. Just keep solving and solvingand solving. Also, check out the roux help and discussion thread.

Opinions, opinions... [emoji6] [emoji8]

I just watched cubing world how to get fast on skewb and the ct sq1 looked slow, and the calvins looked amazong, even though it's a modded mf8. Not that type of cube matters for learning how to solve a puzzle...

If you don't want to buy any more puzzles, then try OH. Roux OH is worth a try if you learn to table abuse. If you're fine with buying a new puzzle, then I would go for pyra. I hardly practice it but i think with one flip and some practice you could get sub 5 which is pretty good.

For different shaped puzzles, if I could get them, I'd get into square 1, skewb, and megaminx. Pyra looks too easy and a bit derpy to me.

learn your method. i mean know it inside and out. question all of your algorithms ("intuitive" moves you use consistently to build blocks or l6e are algorithms too) and find out how they can be done better.
a practice method i like to use is to see one step, close your eyes, do it, find the next step, close your eyes, do it, etc... you dont have to find the entire second block or all 3 steps of l6e all at once, just break the solve down into manageable chunks and increase the size of these chunks as time goes on.

by the way, in the future, you should post in the "Roux help and discussion thread" to avoid cluttering up the front page with question threads.

good luck!
