from looking at your video, you usually have a big pause between first and second block. a lot of times you are turning the cube around to look for your first pieces in second block. reducing that transition time might be the easiest way to improve a couple deciseconds.

I feel like I have gotten better at this transition and finding pieces right away. That 12.69 ao12 I uploaded was over a month and a half ago, and I'm faster now. I still probably look around too much in my second pair of SB, but I think my look ahead is better, and I plan on practicing that a lot with slow solves and such before my next comp.

Or just brute force it like I do.

Hyperorientations doesn't work well for non-matching blocks.

There's so much wrong with my solves at the moment and I'm not sure what I should prioritise practising. Any help? Here's the things I know I do badly:

• First block efficiency
• Lots of rotations during first block
• Usually a pause between the square and the pair
• Pauses between first block and second block
• Second block efficiency
• Pauses during the second block
• Pause between CMLL and 4a
• Pauses between second block and third block 4b and 4c

So yeah, quite a lot Which order should I practise these in? I'm learning CMLL slowly - one case a day on weekends and maybe one over the week too - which is why I didn't include it in that list.
(if I have time I'll upload a video, but that may have to be tomorrow)

Dont stop blocks until sub 15, then lse til 13-12, then evrything. Learn cmll. How many left? Pauses in first blocks are ridiculous so fix that first.

Efficiency should be about 25 for f2b, 9 for fb and 16 for sb, but if your lookahead is good, efficiency will come later. For now, go for lookahead, but keep efficiency in mind, and see different ways to do things in first block in inspection. Plan the whole first block in inspection too.

Do you mean like full CN nonmatching blocks? or like opposite nonmatching blocks? Or both?


There really should be a name for these. CN-NMCMLL OP-NMCMLL something or other. Doesn't actually make it easier to type either way/

Practice LSE stuff first. That's usually easiest to chip seconds off of imo.
Next focus on look ahead in FB and efficiency. Try to use abnormal moves like u or E even to avoid rotations
Then look ahead in SB
Now FB to SB transition
CMLL to 4a should probably come later
