Question about WCA competitions

It won't be any differences if you DNF it or not. It will be your worst solve anyway, and won't count in your average..

If you get a DNF, how will it lower your average? Does it add two seconds to your average or what?

If you have one DNF, then it's considered the worst time and dropped.

If you have two DNF's, your average is DNF.

If you're competing on a "Mean of 3" event, then a DNF will automatically make your average DNF.

Wait I have a question. I've never been to an official competition so I don't know. So if you get a really bad time, and it's the worst out of your times, it can be dropped?

That doesn't make a difference, you still can read the regulations.

In the average of 5 format, the slowest and fastest times are dropped, and the mean is taken of the remaining 3.

Mean of three : Average og all the three times
Average of 5: Dropping the bet and worst solve, and take the 3 other times.

Not "can", but "will" in terms of the average.

So if in one round, I have the following times:

10 seconds
30 seconds
30 seconds
30 seconds
9 minutes

My average would be 30 seconds, because the 10 seconds and the 9 minutes gets dropped.
