[Help Thread] One-Handed Solving Discussion

Thanks shadowslice..
And I just learned roux method as you said..
Now where will I get some good video to cut time on roux method..?
Also you told me tp learn zz method,so send me link for zz tutorial

just type in asmallkitten ZZ tutorial in YouTube to find the video series

Roux tutorial/tips http://wafflelikescubes.webs.com/

Also look at GuRoux, 5BLD, Cubing world and other channels for other good tips

What is the most finger-trick optimized (R and U' move based) method for OH solving? I'm just starting to get into OH. Also, I'm having a bit of trouble doing R, U, and F moves (U' is fine).

Any specific variant?

For LL? Not really. They seem to mostly be pretty much the same in terms of OH effectiveness. Just straight ZZ (COLL+ELL) is great because the solve would go

1) EoLine: 6-gen
2) FB (Extend to 2x2x3): 3-gen
3) SB (finishing F2L): 2-gen
4): LL: COLL: usually 3-gen, small chance of 2-gen
. ELL: 2-gen

You could also try the ZZ/petrus hybrid that someone came up with a while ago:
1) 2x2x2: 6-gen
2) Orient edges + solve 1x2x2 in FUR: 3-gen
3) same as above

Isn't EOLine basically half cross? And do you have any tips on L U F and R?

I'm not great at OH but use the Japanese style which is flick based as your fingertricking. Also, watch asmallkitten and some cubing world videos for good OH tips

And no, EoLine is not half cross as you will have to orient all the other edges on the cube while solving the FD and BD edges

Which is the best method for one handed cubing for cubers using their left hand?
Also from where I can learn them?
Please post some link
I use a sort of CFOP, sort of Petrus method. Basically, I do 2x2x3 block with extra cross piece through block-building or CFOP stuff. After, I do Petrus EO, 2-gen F2L finish, and LL with solved EOLL.
The extra cross piece makes it easier to recognize and execute the EO because all of the bad edges are now away from the least visible spot, which is handy especially when your hand is blocking that spot. Also, after EO, you get super-fast-TPS F2L finish, which is awesome, considering that I practice 2-gen OH solves all the time.
I find this a great compromise between CFOP (no EO until the LS, where VHLS is super-OH-unfriendly) and ZZ (which I just can't get the hang of EOLine for some reason).

Actually H-perm one-handed is really nice :)
Place the cube on the table with the top face on front, holding it in an angle of about 45°. You can easily do the standard 2-handed fingertricks. The table will prevent the right layer to move while you do the M-moves.

Yes, I agree. You can use the table to execute h perms and z perms (or other algs with m moves):)

Hi
I average about 35 -45 seconds (ish) OH
Breakdown:
Cross:4secs
F2l 25secs
Oll 30 secs
Pll 46secs (depends on what pll I get )

The breakdown is based on average.
I think I need to work on fluidity and don't know what to work on

Do you use your pinky to do R moves? I was at your speed and switched, it pays of in the end.

21 secs for 4 slots is something you can work on, every improvement is multiplied 4 - fold. Cut down cube rotations, work on reducing move-count, use empty slots if you don't already. Is your lookahead OK? That tends to come naturally, eventually.
