Hi, I discovered a new JB permutation algorithm that uses D-moves and feels very smooth with minimal regrips.

Placement: the two corners two be swapped are two be placed in the front layer( one front right and one front left) or just like the usual jb perm placement ( both on right layer) then do a U.

Algorithm:

R2 U D' R2 U R2 U' R2 D R2 U' R2 U

Move count: • 19 • Extremely ergonomic due to D-layer transitions • No cube rotations required • Good for people who prefer R/U/D-style fingertricks

I’m submitting this for community testing + possible addition to alg databases (algdb.net, Speedsolving Wiki, etc.). Feedback is appreciated!

I think considering that a similar T permutation (R2 U R2 U’ R2 U’ D R2 U’ R2 U R2 D’) sees very little use and is much slower than the commonly used RUF alg I don’t see this seeing much use in speedsolving. In particular, the fastest I could get this just now was 1.4s; a pretty poorly executed Jb perm from me is around 1.2-1.3s, and it’s probably easier to lock up on this alg’s R2s.

However it is a really fun alg to do.

Isn't that just this squan alg?

This just isn't a good OH alg at all. Many consecutive R2's are not good for OH, same with RUD gen. Do either R U' F U' R' U' R U F' U2' R' which is not the standard 2H RUF, but a more OH optimised version, or R U2' R' U' R U2 z U' z' U R' U' r which is the RUL version but using zRU to be better for OH turning. These are just so much better for OH and you will be able to get higher TPS on them, so please don't use that for OH, you will just be shooting yourself in the foot.
