I have a zanchi that I lubed several times with Liquid Wrench and it started acting exactly like what you described. It got so bad that I just gave it to my brother and bought two new ones (black & stickerless). The two new cubes came pre-lubed and have continued to perform amazingly despite my non-stop use of them. I'm not really sure why the other zanchi went to ruins but I'm guessing that it had something to do with the lube not to mention the fact that I wore the crap out of it.

From what I've heard about Liquid Wrench, it eats plastic (is a petroleum-based product).

I guess it wasn't 54.6mm but it was around that measurement. I saw cyoubx's tutorial but it wasn't extremely helpful. I kno its a Zhanchi because it came in the Dayan cube style with the dullish Dayan stickers and it has the Dayan symbol on the white centerpiece cap.

is it the cube in your avatar? and what lube did you use originally?

I used Lubix, and when I took it apart, the screws/springs in the core seemed to have a lot of lube. I'll try cleaning up the core and see how it fairs. And no, my cube's not in my avatar: I just googled the Zhanchi. I'll post a picture of my cube if it can help.

iv never been able to try anything apart from my silicon spray. you can post a picture if you want, not sure how much it could help though

Okay, so I decided to take the whole cube apart and clean it, relube it, and retension it, and it works pretty well now and doesn't feel very "mushy" and seems to match the general description. I can cut 40-50 degrees on all sides now. Thanks to all who replied!

Well my AoSu is yet to come but I love my Weisu. Tensions are pretty tight, I havent done anything to it. The stock tensions and everything is out of box. Have done about 20 solves and have to say it is the best out there till now. Lets wait for my AoSu, my review might change about weisu :p

Problem with Weisu core

Hi guys i have a question.

My weisu core is damaged and for some reason one of the 6 screws come out really easy making the cube pop. I ifugured its the core and not the screw. I was wondering if i could put any screw i wanted in the cube ? without affecting the performance of the cube ? considering that the centers in th weisu dont turn as they do in other cubes...

So what do you guys think ?, should i put any screw in there ? i cant currently buy a new core...

Moyu Aosu Problem

I recently received my Moyu Aosu, and it was the most perfect cube ever. But soon, it popped. I reassembled it, but now, the Fw2 slices are catching on the small extended piece on the center. My Rw2's and Uw2's are perfect though. So it's just that one side. Anyone know how to fix it?

MoYu Aosu Problems

Hey guys,

Today I received my MoYo AoSu and right out of the box it felt amazing. However after a few solves I noticed that one of the sides turned much rougher and tighter than the other sides, and tensioning did nothing for the problem. The bad side is not affiliated with one color every time, but rather switches colors with scrambling and solving. I have taken some of the pieces apart and do not see anything major that could be causing this. Has this happened to anyone else? I have a comp coming up in a couple days and hope I can get this resolved by then.

Thanks

At first I was thinking maybe some of the outer pieces were defective but maybe you should look at the internals and see if there is a defect or a piece of flash on one of the pieces. If that doesn't help then maybe there is a piece of flash inside the center piece that is making it turn rough.

When I first received my WeiSu, one of the sides were slower that the other five. I opened it up and looked at the "center piece". There was a thin layer of dry white flaky stuff... I scraped it off and it was much better. Maybe this is your problem? Good luck!

My Aosu is actually pretty unusable. When turning through the middle (ie. turning top two slices, or left two slices) they always seem to catch on something just as they straighten up. It's like there's a little bit of plastic somewhere inside that the pieces are getting stuck in. It means it is impossible to do algorithms etc, it keeps interrupting your flow.

Before I give Seattlepuzzles a shout and ask for a replacement, I wonder if anyone here has had similar issues and solved them? Admittedly I haven't tried to disassemble the Aosu yet to track down the issue, because it seems like a tricky one to reassemble.

Out of the box, my new primary-colored Aosu from the Cubicle was awesome. Instantly, it seemed better (with outer layers smoother) than the Weisu. And I thought the Weisu was the best 4x4 I had tried -- even better than my very well-modded and broken in SSv4.

But then I started having major alignment issues with the Aosu. After just a couple minutes, the inner layers started clicking/catching/locking like one of those small do-hickeys fell out. (The outer layers were still flawless.) I disassembled it to the core, reassembled it like a Shengshou (total pain!), and figured it would be fine. Nope. Same exact problem. The outer layers are fine, but there's something very off in the inner layers.

Is there an assembly trick I might have missed?

I have exactly the same problem! And you described it far better than I did. Sorry I have no solution, but I feel slightly better knowing it isn't just me.

BTW I love your Youtube vids dude.
