Moyu Aosu Speed Issues?

I just got my Aosu today, and it's actually slower than my Weisu. I lubed the pieces with Traxxas 30k and Maru, but it's still very slow. The whole reason I bought the thing was because the Weisu was too sluggish for me. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to make it faster? All the reviews I've seen say it's a very fast cube.

Aosu alignment/assembly issues

Out of the box, my new primary-colored Aosu from the Cubicle was awesome. Instantly, it seemed better (with outer layers smoother) than the Weisu. And I thought the Weisu was the best 4x4 I had tried -- even better than my very well-modded and broken in SSv4.

But then I started having major alignment issues with the Aosu. After just a couple minutes, the inner layers started clicking/catching/locking like one of those small do-hickeys fell out. (The outer layers were still flawless.) I disassembled it to the core, reassembled it like a Shengshou (total pain!), and figured it would be fine. Nope. Same exact problem. The outer layers are fine, but there's something very off in the inner layers.

Is there an assembly trick I might have missed?

If I'd have to guess you did not break it in before lubing, correct? If I'm right just diassemble it, clean it out and check that everything is in order. You dont want to see plastic flashing on the pieces (cut it off if you see any excess plastic). You also want to have a completely straight core. A bent core gives a lot of unnecessary pression and makes for an uneven cube. If all of that is in order your problem was probably bad tensions and that the cube is not broken in yet. MoYu 4x4s are very easy to overlube which makes the stiff and sluggish.

So diassemble it, clean it thoroughly, reassemble it and solve it dry for like 100 times atleast. Then put a VERY minimal amount of low viscosity diff oil inside and work your way up until it feels like you want it to. You do not want to lube the core in any way because it works with the x-cube style mechanism with rings. Any amount of any lube will slow those rings, so dont put any on the friction surface of the center pieces. There is no magic or mystery when it comes to cubes. If the puzzle is intact and not broken all there is left is to find the correct balance of tensions and lube that fit your style.

My cube keeps popping?

Hey guys. I've been playing with my shengshou 3x3x3 for about 3 months, and recently it's started falling apart in my hands when I'm moving quickly. Is there any reason for this?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm new here and didn't know 100% where to put this, seemed like the right place.
Let me know if you need anymore information! Thanks! :)

Dayan Zhanchi Acting Weird

I got a Dayan Zhanchi 54.6mm 3X3 a while back and I was really confused on lubing and tensioning since it popped all the time. I saw a bunch of YouTube videos on how to tension it, and I got it to a decent level where it could cut 35 degree corners on all sides. But what bothers me is that it doesn't have a very crisp/clicky feeling like how it's describe in various reviews; it sounds crisp but feels kinda mushy and doesn't have an "almost out of control" feeling. So is my problem an issue with my cube, my tensioning, my lubing, or something else?

P.S: I haven't lubed it in a while since right after every time I lube it I can feel/hear the lube as it turns and feels kinda squishy during turns.

your problem should be that you used too much lube. i have a zhanchi and i lightly lubed it with silicon spray and it moves very well and with a bit of tightening it moves as well as everyone says. if i were you id just clean out the lube, get it tightened how you want it and lightly use whatever lube you find to be the best.

Alive, I've been using Lubix and I cleaned most of it out right after it started feeling mushy when I first lubed it. The sides of the corners and edge pieces are dry when I feel them. I'll take it apart though and look the core.

it might be the springs/screws, iv noticed with mine that it can sometimes have a grindy, mushy feel to it when its turned.

its not a bad cube, the best iv ever had, but if you wanted to take apart the core and look into it you might be able to fix it.

I had a zanchi that I lubed several times with Liquid Wrench and it started acting exactly like what you described. It got so bad that I just gave it to my brother and bought two new ones (black & stickerless). The two new cubes came pre-lubed and have continued to perform amazingly despite my non-stop use of them. I'm not really sure why the other zanchi went to ruins but I'm guessing that it had something to do with the lube not to mention the fact that I wore the crap out of it.

EDIT: I've owned the two new cubes for about a month or so and haven't re-lubed them yet. I also owned the other cube for about two months (it was my first cube) before it became unusable.
