I am learning the F2L intuitively right now and have found that you could actually use a c/e 'slot' that isn't filled to maneuver the edge and corner together. It saves a lot of moves but would create a ton of more cases than the 41 there currently are.
Right now I put the corner in U layer in the URF slot with the edge in the UL slot and then I do something like R U' R' to orient it correctly so I can pair it with the edge AND THEN INSERT THE C/E PAIR. I do this with three c/e pairs then use a ZBF2L alg with an edge already placed to place the corner and orient the LL edges.
Does anyone know where I could find a guide for using this kind of intuitive F2L(not the ZBF2L part)- I'm sure someone has thought of it as well. Using this method I remember about maybe 10(probably less) basic sets and apply simple algs of around 3-6 moves each to place the c/e pair.
