[Help Thread] How to increase TPS

I can finish cross + f2l in 8.5 seconds but i average 16 seconds. So technically it takes me 7.5 seconds to complete LL. Please tell me how to increase TPS in oll and pll.

Do you do 2Look last layer? One way would be to simply drill algorithms until you can execute them faster.

Start by going through all your algs and making sure that they’re good algs and also reviewing your finger tricks for them. Finger tricks can save tons of time when it comes to LL. Once you’ve perfected your finger tricks it just comes down to drilling the algs

Edit: forgot to mention but recognition is extremely important in LL time as well. Use a trainer to not only drill the algs but also improve the recognition of them. Also learn 2 sided PLL recognition if you haven’t yet

I don't do 2 look LL but here are some tips:
1. Jperm has great alg videos for oll and pll, I would check them out and use his fingertricks.
2. Use a trainer to practice recognition and fluency. PLL: https://bestsiteever.ru/pll/ OLL: https://bestsiteever.ru/oll/

I'm learning full PLL right now and I like using his algs and fingertricks. I've been using the pll trainer and it has helped a ton.

How much is recognition and how much is execution?

It may help to work on your recognition if this is slow.

To drill the algs, GAN Smartcubes have a cool alg trainer, where you can do the algs over and over again.

In this video of cubehead, you can see it around 8:45

A Smartcube could also help you to see how much time you spend on execution and recognition

One way my cubing TPS increased is when I adapted my music instrument learnings into it. I play the Tabla so the finger dexterity translated to cubing. To get more than 7 TPS, it is better to just cube more.

I play keyboard as well in which we have so many exercises to increase finger's speed. But the fact is....... I suck at cubing
