I'm in need in some help with cross as a lot of my time comes from cross. I'd say around 15 seconds which is what i average for cross.

Im going to say the things I have done already below

cross on bottom
move the cross, not the piece
3 move insert

im just going to use example solves and this was what i got because i have no other idea how to practice other than do more.

please do correct on what i can do better.

(i deleted the message shown in the image which was in another thread because i posted it in the wrong thread)

I thought I was being dumb when I couldn't find any white cross solution shorter than 7 moves, and it turns out 7 is optimal for white cross. (7 moves for white and green, 6 moves for yellow and orange, 5 moves for red and blue.)

scramble: D' L R2 B R2 B D2 R2 B' D2 L2 B' U' R F2 R' U2 L' B D

x2 y // yellow top, red front
R' (F B') L // orange, blue
D' F R // fill in the other two

Another cross solution:

z2 // yellow top, green front
// idea: L2 to solve red, R' F to solve green
R' L' F L' // split up the L2 and do the F in between
// solving orange and blue left as exercise for reader

Your difficulty in planning cross likely stems from inefficiency. The more moves you make, the harder it'll be to track the remaining pieces across those moves. This scramble doesn't have a short white cross, but a few pieces are already in the right positions to be inserted.

Start small and move your way up. Can't plan 4 cross pieces at once? Try planning 1-2. That should be easy. When you're comfortable with that, move on to 3. Then move on to 4 eventually.

With two pieces planned, you should be able to execute that in 1 second. For the remaining two cross pieces, you should be able to find the piece (let's say, in 2 seconds) and then immediately know and execute the solution (in 1 more second) each, so overall your cross shouldn't be taking more than 7 seconds.

so how do you be more efficient as it is really hard for me to plan out cross.

do you mean by less moves
currently i am having trouble planning after 2 pieces because they go everywhere

what i try to do is after planning i just close my eyes and do it quickly.
