Hello, cubers! Back in May, I ended up going to the cubing competition in Providence, Rhode Island, Brown Cubing Day 2012. I had tons of fun there meeting so many fast cubers, but I really wish that I could've made Round 2 for something. I only registered for the 3x3x3 and 4x4x4 since those were my best events and ended up getting 58.97 for the 3x3 and 6:39.00 for the 4x4, but apparently those times aren't really competition material for making Round 2. Now, I want to go to the cubing competitions in Cambridge, MA, but my parents won't take me because I got beaten at Brown Cubing Day 2012 and that I didn't make any Round 2 events.
So my question is: What times in your opinion for the 3x3, the 4x4, and the 5x5 could possibly make Round 2 in a cubing competition?
Also, what solving methods are the best ones to use in speedcubing? My current method is the Dan Brown method, and if I were to get used to a different speedcubing method, then I could probably get faster in cubing.
