Hi! I made a virtual reality version of "magic cube 4d". It's much more comfortable than original version and is actually playable. Thanks to VR controllers that are attached to player's hands, you can actually "hold it in your hands" and rotate it's parts quickly, almost like with a real object. If someone is interested, you are welcome to this thread!
I made it because I wanted to play it a lot and original version seemed too scary and complicated for me. Playing with computer mouse is extremely uncomfortable, I never managed to solve even regular 3x3x3 with it, I had no hope to solve 3x3x3x3. My guess turned out to be correct, in VR version solving 2 layers and centers of third layer was surprisingly simple! On third layer there are new problems, that I didn't have with 3x3x3 - 6x6x6, but there's also much more freedom in moving subcubes around - more possibilities to solve those problems :).
Here are some videos with it: https://drive.proton.me/urls/ZPT4CZBDH8#Mq7hG7R61Suh https://drive.proton.me/urls/0RF9QC0VPR#xfK0CiupOHgK https://drive.proton.me/urls/0M3869H3NW#SoUJbL1ZeW3F
Also attaching screenshots.

That's really cool, great job! I recommend you join the hypercubers server if you are interested in this, there is daily discussion about these puzzles, many other puzzles, New development of programs, physical representations, speedsolving (which has been booming in the last like 8 months) and more. And we could give you tips for solving that last layer if you'd like! anyway, just so you know mc4d is hardly used anymore because hyperspeedcube with keyboard controls has come out. Vr is something that has been brought up on the server as a possibility multiple times before though but it hasn't been put into action until now!

Here is a link to the new main hypercubers website that is still in progress but has links to loads of different resources, programs, and the discord

Shared with the hypercubers discord server. It's very cool. Some of us will try it soon.
Thanks!

Thanks, I'll join tomorrow! I'll first try to solve last layer myself, the only thing that remains is rotating corners. I published the game on steam, not sure if forum rules allow me to post the link but the game has an obvious name. I didn't publish the code yet, I hope it's not a big disappointment for you... But it's available for linux natively (without wine/proton) :).
