Do you have bad solving days? How do you deal with bad times?

This few days i kept getting DNFs for blindsolving... this is weird because a couple of days before i kept getting PBs, well, what i did was played with my V7 for a while, and it makes your brain think : hey this is a 7x7, and you think a 3X3 is difficult to memorize?? and the next time i handle a 3x3, it gives the illusion that the cubies hav enlarged or something and it will become easier well it's just my way of doing it...

How often do you guys have really bad cubing days? where your average just goes up about 5 seconds. I'm having that right now.

Only on days ending in y.

so what do you guys do when this happens to you?

Stop working on speed and do something else like learning algs, look ahead, or bld(I'm in the process of learning bld so it's not about speed).

Bad days occur normally because you are rushing and not looking ahead. You need to be cool, calm and collected.

Ok, so I found this, so no need to make a new one.

I'm recently experiencing the same symptoms. Went from a 23.xy average back to a 27-25 ish. I'm not sure if it's the cold, or if my fingertricks are being lazy considering my FII has become really smooth now. To those that have had similar problems, how did you overcome it? I've read that when this happens, you usually end up faster when the bad days are gone. Is this true?

Here is my most recent 12 solves:

00:30.45
00:22.99
00:25.17
00:21.99
00:27.05
00:21.48
00:23.65
00:22.37
00:27.04
00:21.44
00:22.03
00:27.08
00:20.91
I usually stay below 25, but I'm going back to the 30's now. What to do?

Abnormal averages. How do you deal with bad times?

I made this thread to try and understand how people deal with bad times
Is there some kind of ritual that people do on a bad day or something?

Let me know how YOU personally deal with your bad times during averages or in competition

I either keep solving until I get something like 3 sub-13s in a row (that's just a little under my usual average, which is more 13.00).
If I continue to be bad, I increase the number of times in a row I have to get sub-13.

And if this doesn't work and I'm going mental, or I just want to be comical, I throw my eastsheen 2x2 at the wall. It's good for the eastsheen too you know.

At home: Just walk away. Put the cube down and go do something else for a while.

In competition: Usually this means that I am stressing out too much. If possible I try to eat a snack, put on my blindfold and ear muffs and just tune the world out for a bit. If I can control my breathing and/or get a snack because I'm probably also hungry then this usually helps.

Keep solving and solving and solving until they are good. Sometimes I feel like my main is dying/dead, so I try to find a new main among my cubes. I can never find another cube that's as good (times). It drives me crazy sometimes.

When they don't get better, we have a problem. Had direct examples of this in the past couple days, but now it's fine.

Anywhere: I'm pretty sure this is true for most people...doing poorly on one solve won't really affect your next solve unless you let it get to your head. It's just like losing a point in a tennis match. There's no time to change up your game during a match. Just think positive, tell yourself to calm down and focus on your next task.
