Advice Cube/What next?

Lol I just wanted to see your reactions really. Although I do standby the minor simplification part of it for sure, minus the "complexity" of eo if you don't get it, it is "much easier to build block with RUL" as people have said.

Yeah. Well, if all things were fair, I think he/she should switch to another method; something trustable, like ZZ, Roux, or Petrus.

ZZ is simplified petrus. Actually, I'm officially deeming it a beginners method.

Sneaky panda?? Try controversial panda! :p

ZZ takes much fewer algs for a two-look LL than Fridrich, and as mentioned, ZZ blockbuilding is a walk in the park compared with Petrus. Just EO that's difficult really - and its dealt with during inspection ;)

It may not be beginner, but deffo not as bad as is made out IMHO

after practicing some more over the past couple of days, i finally got the minute solve and my average has improved by 10 seconds to 1 min 20 secs.

i made a few inspired purchases after browsing the forums, i ordered some cubesmith tiles, a diy from dealextreme and a diy from c4y. paid for all via paypal.

and then (im not sure if its a coincidence) my card got cloned. someone tried to withdraw £50 from an atm in canada this morning (im in the uk) not used my card recently apart from these 3 purchases.

nice job! It always feels great to improve, especially since you don't notice it. You're *probably* going to encounter a barrier at 1 min but don't get discouraged and keep going. You should also take some videos of yourself and watch them. You often don't notice anything when you're solving but you will be able to see really how long your pauses are when watching video.

i took the advice and worked on my cross and my f2l after watching badmephisto's videos on both a few more times. the cross video was very useful as i was wasting alot of time on the cross by matching the edges to the corresponding middle peice rather than putting them in the correct order and correcting the cross.

i initially thought i was completing the cross in about 10 seconds, but it was probably close to double that, so im confident i can get my averages alot closer to the minute.

my plan of action is to practice the cross more and f2l slowly in an effort to improve my forward thinking. hopefully by the time my diys arrive, my thought process and peice recognition will be alot better, then i can consider finger tricks and the different methods for the last layer.

if that leads to a 40 second solve, i'll be very happy!!

heh, I've practiced on my looking forward and didn't think I gotten better. Now that I've timed myself I noticed a 5 second decrease on my average =D
Still must work a lot on looking forward though.
