I just got a 2x2x2 cube. Right now, I pretty much solve it with techniques carried over from solving a 3x3x3. I solve it by solving one side, then doing OLL, then PLL. Is that how most people solve it?

If so, what algorithms do you use to solve the 2 PLL cases? I use the 3x3x3 algorithms for Y and F permutations, which for me are:

Y-permutation:
U' R' U R U' R y L' U' L U y' x R U R' U' R2

F-permutation:
F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F'

I can average about 15 seconds with that method right now. Any suggestions on different methods, or tips to get faster?

I *think* that there are some methods out there that can do in like sub 20 moves. I also *think* that because there are no edges, it would be pretty easy to learn a case for every possible combination for the top layer. Again, I haven't really looked into this much, my 2x2s are collecting dust on my shelf as we speak lol.

Okay. After some more research (thanks Erik Akkersdijk for your sites tutorials :P) I found a few methods. There are a lot of layer by layer methods, and the more advanced ones are the Guimond method, the EG Method, and the OFOTA Method. The page that said that is http://erikku.er.funpic.org/rubik/Tutorials.html - I don't think you can find a much better page than that.

Ortega is the easiest other than that in my opinion and there is this one guy that got a 3.99 average with it there is only like 6-8 algorithms I use it and I am pleased with it.
