Yeah this happens a lot more often than you'd expect.

First of all, there is a search bar, and a lot of people have posted about this before, and it would be a bit simpler if people would utilize it. Upper right hand corner, labeled "Google Custom Search".

Having said that, your problem is most likely that you've stripped your core. Order a new core set for the Zhanchi.
You can get either the standard Dayan one or something like a Cube4You one, it shouldn't make a difference but some say the Cube4You lasts longer.

Thank you and sorry about that, I use the search bar next time.

Diy cubes help?

Hello. I got a Diy lunhui a couple years ago, my first speed cube, and when comparing it to my friend's pre assembled lunhui it didn't match up and his was much, much better. I recently took it fully apart and reassembled it and lubed it as shown in videos, but my cube still does not match up to his. Is it possible that first time I assembled the cube I screwed it in too sideways? Even though I used about a penny's worth of room center to core, the cube tensions are still tighter in some sides and looser on others and it is very annoying and ruining the feel of the cube. My friend's cube had all sides even and feels great.

I have recently wanted to order the Gans 3 v2 and the CX3 as diys to assemble and lube myself, but my bad experience with my lunhui is scaring me from doing so. What could I do here to fix my lunhui and or alleviate my fears?

Maybe your screws are not in straight? The Gans avoids that problem with the screwless core although assembly is a bit more difficult, but still fun. I found the CX3 annoying to assemble - the corner stalks needed gluing because they are so flimsy they flex and catch otherwise, and there was a lot of flash to file off too.

You don't have the cube properly tensioned. That cube also doesnt need a lot of lube, in those videos they use like a vial worth for no reason.
If you have problems with a normal diy you'll have a really hard time with the gans 3, and youll hate the cx3 its too big going from a 56mm to a 88mm cube.

I didn't know the CX3 is 88mm

When assembling all centers were the same distance from the core from each other. Some of the pieces do wobble more than other, though.

Dayan Zhanchi Issues

I purchased a Dayan Zhanchi (prebuilt) from Amazon and have been using it for the last few weeks. The cube locks, pops, and cannot corner cut at all without catching on something and popping all over the place. I have literally tried all kinds of tensioning and it either is too tight to corner cut, or it catches and pops. I lubricated the cube with silicone, which made it significantly faster, but did not help at all with the corner cutting issue. I have watched many youtube videos and read many reviews about the Zhanchi, and it is evident that the cube should excel in corner cutting, but I can honestly cut better with a Rubik's Brand. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone offer any advice as to how to stop this from happening?

I had the exact same problem, and I also bought mine prebuilt from Amazon! I just dealt with it for a while, and it exploded a lot and was not the "superfast" cube that many describe it as. However, I now really like the Zhanchi after cleaning and lubing.
Here's what I did:
1. Take the whole cube apart. Unscrew everything, and split the edges and corners. You want every single part to be separate (Don't lose pieces!!)
2. Wash everything in a tupperware container with warm water and soap (I used dish soap). Scrub each piece with a toothbrush, getting off any gunk or dust.
3. Let everything dry.
4. Reassemble the cube. Make sure tensions are even.
5. Put a small drop of silicone oil (Lubicle and traxxas should work. I used the former) on each center screw--the part that goes into the "spider".
6. Adjust tensions evenly as needed.

This is what I did. It took several hours, but it was totally worth it.

In the future, I will buy my cubes from a specialty site such as thecubicle.us. People seem to have better experiences with purchases from there.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try that tomorrow and hopefully that should help. Are the stickers waterproof though? Even though I want to replace the stickers anyway.

Get a new screw and spring set, and replace it with that side, or it could be that your core threads are broken. I recommend getting completely new internals (core and springs/screws).

So I have a Shangshou 5x5... and it pops every 2 or 3 solves. Sometimes more than once per solve. I've tightened it: same problem. I've loosened it: same problem.

I took it about as loose as it can go while staying in one piece, then started doing solves while tightening it an 8th turn on every side if the problem persisted. I did this until it was about as tight as it could go before locking up like crazy. All to no avail. It's usually the center pieces shooting everywhere all the time.

Are all Shengshou 5x5s crap like this? Or do I just have a crap cube?

I have a question about the MoYu WeiSu

So I have a question about the Moyu Weisu.

I got this cube like a a week and a half ago and at first it was good but then it started going very bad cuz of the tensions.

One of my friends grabbed the cube and it completely felt apart due to a center coming off, it took me 2 hours to reassemble the cube.

Now the cube is pretty good, just as much as before but its a little too loose, like I have no problem with the tensions since I'm used to tensions like that but I'm afraid that the cube might fall apart like it did before.

So do you guys think a weisu can just fall apart for having tensions too loose ? also if the cube goes looser the more you use it, or is it there no problem in keeping it very loose ?

It would be very annoying if the cube falls apart since its incredibly hard to assemble, at least for me.

So what do you guys think ? :)
