Well I average about 17-18 and my break is roughly 3 6 5 3 because 2-Look cases for CMLL :( and terrible SB look ahead

Ok thanks.

nice, about a second improvement in a couple days just from LSE.

I haven't improved (that I know of). I can't do it this fast on average in solves. I think seeing eo before helps. I need to work on predicting eo (especially for the 2-look algs).

Hello I'm new on Roux I started last week and I average 45 seconds. So I have some questions. Do you plan the whole first block during the inspection time ? How do you look ahead on the 2nd block ?

I average around 25 and I plan only a 1x2x2 block. However, wait for other speedcubers to reply.

As you get better, you want to be able to plan your whole first block in inspection time. for now, try to plan 1x2x2 block and/or track the unsolved pieces.

Just keep practicing 2nd block to better your look ahead. you'll naturally get better. Don't move too fast, turn slowly. Try deducing and tracking all the second block pieces while solving it.

mainly, i think it is important to improve movecount, no cube rotations, and enjoy roux.

yes you try to do that during inspection time, i look ahead to the second block by trying to track the 2 pairs that will be in the second block along with the middle edge piece.

if any are in the correct spots by chance i try to preserve them and not break them up when finishing my second block

hope that helps i avrage mid 30s to 45ish now

I use Roux sometimes, and one thing I've noticed is that my movecount is always very high, usually during the second block and LSE. Here are the first 5 scrambles I got from qqTimer (so I haven't just picked out particularly bad ones):
y x
L U2 L2 U L' U' B / U R' U R' U F' (7+6=13)
U' R' U' R' / U R U R' U' r U R' (4+8=12) (very lucky)
U R U' l D2 l' U l D2 [l' R'] (10) (again, lucky)
U' M' U M U M' U' M' / U2 M' U2 M' U2 M2 U / E2 M' E2 M (8+7+4=19)
Total = 54
x2 y'
D R u L / U y R' U F' (4+4=8)
U' R' r U' R' U2 R' / R' U2 R U2 R' U r (7+7=14) (somewhat easy)
U R U R' U R U L' U R' U' L (12)
M' U' M' U2 M' U' M' / U M' U2 M U' / u2 M u2 M' (7+5+4=16) (lucky UL+UR)
Total = 50
Two easy scrambles so far
U' R u2 / r2 U L U' L' U L U' L' (3+9=12)
R' U R' M' R' U r / M2 U2 R U2 R' U R U' R' U' R U R' (7+13=20)
U' R U R' U R U L' U R' U' L (12)
U M U' M / U M' U2 M' U M2 U' / U2 M U2 M' (4+7+4=15) (easy EO)
Total = 59
y2
U' R' U' R x' U x' / L U' r U' L' (5+5=10)
U R' U R' U R U R' r' U r U R U' r U2 R U' R' / R' U2 R M U2 R' U r (19+8=27)
U' F2 R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F2 (18) (I used to know the COLL for this, then forgot it)
U M' U' M' / U' M' U2 M' U2 M2 U / M' U2 M' U2 M2 (4+7+5=16)
Total = 71
y' x
R' r2 F / u M2 u' (3+3=6)
R' U R U' R r2 U r2 r' U' R / U' R U2 R' U2 R U' R' (11+8=19)
R' U2 R U R' U R / F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F' (7+17=24)
M' U2 M' U2 M U' M' / U M' U2 M' U2 M2 U' / u2 M' u2 M (7+7+4=18)
Total = 67
Any tips on how to improve movecount? And is the average movecount for each step (so I can compare)?

Scramble 3:
your solution:
U' R u2 / r2 U L U' L' U L U' L' (3+9=12)
R' U R' M' R' U r / M2 U2 R U2 R' U R U' R' U' R U R'(7+13=20)
U' R U R' U R U L' U R' U' L (12)
U M U' M / U M' U2 M' U M2 U' / U2 M U2 M' (4+7+4=15) (easy EO)
Total = 59

you couldve done r'UB2U'B
R' M' R' is silleh, just do R r
you couldve done rUR'URMU'R'

Is pseudo-blocks (like off by R2) worth practicing? Do you faster people use it? Should I learn full cmll first?

Oh yeah. I know 4/7 of CMLLs. Gonna try to learn the rest by Christmas. Might start tonight.

Yea, my solution kinda showed that I usually use CFOP.
I would've done that if I could look ahead using Roux. That's just something that I'll be able to do with practise.
That's much shorter. Thanks!

Hello I'm new on Roux I started last week and I average 45 seconds. So I have some questions. Do you plan the whole first block during the inspection time ? How do you look ahead on the 2nd block ?

Ideally, yes, you want to be able to plan out all of your first block, but I avg 17-18 and I only plan out about 75% of the first block whilst tracking the other pieces. However, at your stage I wouldn't really worry about that too much as improving other things can make more of an impact on your times (EO and CMLL). When you feel like your first block is holding you back because you haven't planned enough of it, then perhaps you could do BLD first block.

Now for looking ahead to the 2nd block, I try to find and track pieces while I'm making the last pair or last 2 pieces of the first block and inserting them. Solving slowly but turning at a constant rate really helps here.

easy scramble: U' L R2 U L U D2 L D2 L2 D2 U2 F' R U R' L F U F' R F2 B R2 L2

FB: r' U2 R' F
SB: U' r U r2 U' M U2 r U R' U' M2 U2 R' U r (Kinda wasted the good first block)
CMLL: U2 U' x U R' U' L U2 r U2 r'
LSE: U' M U' M' U' M' U' M2 U2 M2 U' M U2 M' U2 M2
Time: 8.86

Haha. That was an easy solve.
48/8.86 = 5.19 tps. Wow.

One reason I am slow is because of my tps. I can rarely sup-3 the whole solve. Any ideas how to improve it?
