Do the Cubesmith stickers fit the Dayan megaminx? If not, what stickers do you use for the Dayan?

They do, but they're a bit small.

Thinking about getting a minx. I never really was interested in learning a puzzle that's got more faces to it then a normal cube for awhile, but now the idea seems intriguing. So, what kind should I get? A dayan?

A ShengShou is much cheaper and somewhat better (after modding). I don't have one, but I've heard it. I'm gonna buy that one instead of a DaYan one.

Dayans are pricey, if you have the money and you like their 3x3s, go right ahead. If you are low on cash and have time modding, go for the Shengshou. Or you can wait for the mf8 v3 and see read/watch reviews about it.

Oh, and I forgot to say that my ss came with normal(non-mirrored) mf8 color scheme. This is lottery I guess.

I got my old guhong v1 from popbuying, and the orange and red stickers are swapped. I just disassembled the edges and corners to pair the colours correctly
Would have been disastrous if your minx had the wrong colour scheme.

Sorry for this noob question, but does color scheme matter in comps? Like "Only a cube with this (some specific) colour scheme is legal."?

No, it's just most people are used to a certain color scheme, and it messes you up if you get a different one, so you don't get as good times.

What mega is good for a beginner? I don't think I will mod anything (depending on the difficulty of the mod, and how long it takes), but I'll practice a lot and probably become atleast an intermediate mega-solver.

EDIT: You do not need to mod the Mf8 or the Dayan ( just loose them a lot, lube and some solves on them ) but you should mod the SS.

Mf8 v2. The Dayan out of the box is pretty hard to turn, you'll have to loose it a lot, lube it and solve a few times, but it's good after 5 solves. Mf8 is strange, you can get a very very nice minx or a very very sh*t minx.
