Well the alg only affects corners, edge prediction is very easy. I doubt he's learnt "the 270 system".
Or, the last few turns, you can predict the U-perm and it may sound hard but cancelling on the spot is usually natural.

Yeah I guessed that was the case; what I meant was the principle of 2-alg-1-look is pretty sound.

It just looks like he's doing slice moves (r2) instead of wide then face turns (Rw2 R2'). Same alg though. I've always done slice moves for that alg so I know what it looks like
