Yay (@Faz) got a record today in a comp in Australia. This is his 209th OcR, and I think he has had the OcR for 4x4 since his first competition in 2009.
Competition: Altona Algorithms 2021 ,4x4 Finals (2nd Round)
Result: https://live.worldcubeassociation.org/competitions/530/rounds/8301
Cube: YJ MGC
Time list:
| 22.36 | 26.61 | 21.30 | 17.98 | 21.05 |
His previous best single in a competition was 18.39 seconds, and 22.74 average.
He breaks the single by 0.4 seconds and the average by over a second (which he set in January of this year). It is quite a big margin considering how fast the 4x4 event is at the top level.
Strong performance indeed.
The single ranks him second in the world, just 0.56 second short of the world record by Sebastian. The average ranks him third in the world, just behind Max and Sebastian, who both have a 21 second average.
I look forward to see how many parities there were in the solves, and how much CN Yau was used over Yau.
Congrats to Feliks once again!
