Making My Cube Smoother/Faster?

I currently own a Dayan Zhanchi with torpedos, and a Dayan Ghuhong stickerless without torpedos. I've loosened both cubes, but both aren't that fast. I've lubed both cubes, and I know if I loosen my Ghuhong anymore, it will pop quite often. What can I do?

Thanks.

Is there any chance that you've over lubed them? You could try cleaning one down and then just using a tiny bit of lube to see if it helps.
I lubed it a while ago, and it's wearing off. It was a little bit faster with the lube, but not much. My Ghuhong is also faster than my Zhanchi I should mention.

Depends on the lube you are using.

I use differential oil on my guhong and you have to do couple of solves before it starts feeling smooth. And as it has already been said, you might have overlubed it. In that case just remove some pieces and clean the excess until it's good to go.

I lubed my Zhanchi with some type of cube lube, which I think it was Lubix lube, that was about a month ago, I'm out of that. It seems like the lube has worn off of that now. I lubed my Ghuhong a couple weeks ago with Patrolium jelly which worked pretty good, and it's still good right now, but not a fast as I want it. I mainly want my Zhanchi faster since it's the slowest of the two.

YOU LUBED A GUHONG WITH VASELINE!!?? >:O *calls cube protection services*

Lubix works really well on Dayan cubes, so that's interesting that it didn't work well. And it shouldn't have worn off so quickly.
Donovan(the creator of lubix) has a really good tutorial on how he lubes his cubes.
Videos are on this page.

Petroleum jelly is not good for cubes, it eats away at the plastic. You should wash it out as soon as possible.
If you can get more lubix, or one of the similar cheaper lubix alternatives and lube the core, your Zhanchi should be faster than your Guhong.

Alright. Thank you. I'll have to buy more lubix.

If you plan on relubing your cube with anything, I would really suggest to take it entirely apart and wipe down everything with a papertowel or cloth (as long as it doesn't leave fuzzies)

Reapply the lube that you decide on using, if its non aerosol I would follow the Lubix Tutorial at :http://youtu.be/UXQ-VGhsUKw
This is slightly outdated as we have improved the lubing method.
When lubing the core, pull apart the center caps to expose the screw and apply a fat bb size of lube, while still holding it apart, spin the core with your fingers to work the lube around the screw, slowly allow the center to come back together then move on to the opposite side, repeat till all 6 are done. Plus you will have a green dispensing tip (If you buy Lubix that is)
