Not to be a fanboy but PCs are just plain ugly. Here are more reasons I prefer Macs of PCs.
Looks
The OS
Don't get as much viruses as PCs
No Bluescreens
Features that PCs don't have

About 95% percent of PC owners would love to have a Mac but cannot afford it. I'm sticking with Apple and microsoft sucks. I've been part of many PC and Mac debates and yet I always win.

I don't ever get viruses.
They don't crash as much.

About 95% percent of Mac owners love to tell everyone that Macs are the greatest thing since sliced bread and that PCs suck and are crappy. I'm sticking with Microsoft and Apple sucks. I've been part of many PC and Mac debates and yet I always win.

I own a $400 eMachines and it has never had a bluescreen, has never had a virus, and can run almost anything without a problem. I just don't understand the justification of spending that much money on a computer when you can get the same stuff for way cheaper just without that shiny Apple logo. I'm even going into video editing next year for college and will still refuse to buy a Mac.

In terms of cubes, just go with a regular ZhanChi, I have heard the 48-pt edge mod that Lubix does is not needed on the cube. I have a ZhanChi bought from Puzzle Addictions and it is supahfast.

My ghost hand rarely locks up and it can cut corners easily at a 20 degree angle its pretty fast too, I just don't like the quality of the stickers. What about the Guhong and Zhanchi stickers, do they peel off and chip easily. If you look at Faz's world record videos, his cubes are chipped like crazy.

So if the only problem is that your stickers are chipping, you can order stickers from cubesmith.com.

I'm not really sure what your average is, but my Ghost Hand (as well as many others) locks up a lot. And a 20 degree corner cut isn't really that great to be honest. I'm not saying you need 60 degree corner cutting, but having something like 45 degrees is pretty good. Plus the Ghost Hand can't reverse corner cut.

And yes, the GuHong stickers will chip, too. All stickers will eventually start chipping.

I loled.
Making up statistics to pretend like you won an argument, doesn't actually count as winning an argument.

GeekyGeek, I am sure that all of the info here is confusing you, so I will make it simple. If you want a cube that is fast, reliable, unpopable and have little to no lock ups, then get the lubix zhanchi. TO those who say that their mf8 legends are faster, I have to disagree, the mf8 may be "smoother" but it locks up like crazy and is in no way better than the zhanchi. To those who say the Guhong is better, you have to be kidding me. The zhanchi has better corner cutting, better speed, is unpopable and doesn't get gummy. On a simple mono y mono comparison is looses in almost every category except possibly controllability. And controllability inevitably depends on the user.

With all of this beign said, GeekyGeek, you really should try these cubes yourself and also learn more and practice. Your cube will mean nothing if you don't know how to use it.

Well, since this seems very directed towards me, I'll have to say, you can listen to me or the guy that's been cubing since February this year. I've definitely put a LOT more time in with a LOT more cubes, and have a fair idea of what I'm saying. It is all personal opinion, in the end, so really there shouldn't be an argument, but when I'm told that I'm pretty much wrong after 2 years of experimenting and building an understanding of what I'm saying, by someone that just barely started, I have to speak up. When I said the MF8 legend was the FASTEST cube, I never said it was BETTER than the Zhan Chi, although, if you used mine, you might think it is, as my legend KILLS my Zhan Chi, but I can see where other people wouldn't agree with this, as the legend has no corner cutting (which it doesn't need). I was strictly talking about speed. As for saying the Gu Hong is better than the Zhan Chi, the Gu Hong is much more controllable, which to me, is more important than anything. If you can't control a cube, what good is it? Again, just based on MY cubes, as they are the ones I have used, my Gu hong is MUCH faster, cuts corners during solves MUCH better, instead of locking up first and THEN cutting, like my Zhan Chi, and just overall is a much better cube. The Zhan Chi just has a lot of hype surrounding it, so everyone is all excited and probably think they like it more than they actually do. The (MY) Zhan Chi just has a laggy feeling when not lubed, but when lubed is too uncontrollable (Maru lube), and just doesn't seem to cut corners while actually solving. So far, there have been two people who were originally so hyped up and in love with this cube, that have since started to not like it and have switched back to their LingYun and Gu Hongs. I guarantee you, since Feliks got the world record with this cube, everyone was in love with it. It will all die down, and a lot of people will start switching back to whatever their last main was. Oh, and the ONLY reason an MF8 legend would lock up like crazy for you would be if it didn't have lubix, or because you started with a cube that was TOO GOOD, like a Dayan, which would not allow you to build the skill of turning accuracy, which I've been saying all along.

The MF8 seems too cheap for a so called good cube. I decided I am on a budget because I am going to get the new MacBook Air, the 13" 256gb 4gb ram, with a core i7. That cost about $1700 plus like $100 tax. I'm using that for college and I don't have a job yet, just my savings and stuff, so I can only buy 1 cube. Do you guys think my ghost hand will be as good as a zhanchi or a guhong after i lube it with lubix?

In all honesty, after modding my Ghost Hand 2, and putting lubix in it, it's become one of my top 5 cubes.

Here, since some people seem to think I'm the only one that doesn't think the Zhan Chi is what people are making it seem to be, here are a couple of comments from people on you tube. The first one is from a guy who was so psyched, he got the first consumer version in the world and went nuts over it for a little bit, but now, this is what he thinks:

@xxoxia I talked to donovan and he actually told me he doesnt like the zhanchi its feels too springy he enjoys his elite 100x better! so i wouldnt blame him for the hype on it. I like my lingyun best it just pops so when i get the torpedoes for it it will be my main!

And here's another comment from someone who ordered two, thinking they'd be the best:

@xxoxia- i got my two zhanchis yesterday. I modded one and used different lubes and everything. the verdict- THEY SUCK! well thats a little bit of an exaggeration, but seriously the lingyun and guhong are much better

So, I am not the only one who think the Zhan Chi isn't the best.

There are SO many things wrong with this thread.
@OP: I don't suggest buying a ZhanChi or other such cubes immediately. Also, to clarify, Lubix Guhongs etc. are Dayan Guhongs etc. which Donovan at Lubix Cubes buys, modifies, lubricates, and sells. They're still Dayan brand, just with Donovan's mods.
Firstly, how fast are you? I'd like to see an example solve. Or two. Post a video. Or just take a scramble from the Example Solve thread and type your solution.
Next, do you want a cube that is crispy or creamy? Crispy cubes usually sound louder and feel rougher, but can still be as smooth as a quiet, "frictionless" creamy cube. A great example of this is the dispute between the type A-V and the type F-II. Crispy vs. creamy. It's a personal choice, and choose that which you are comfortable with.
Next, don't be afraid or uselessly cheap and buy only one kind of cube. That's poppycock. Sometimes, you just need to risk it. It's not too huge of a deal/loss, anyway. It's not like buying stocks in 2007.

The main reason why I'm against buying the "greatest" cubes first is that I fear that the cubes will overpower the cuber. In other words, the reason why I originally didn't like the GuHong was because I couldn't look ahead on it--it was simply moving too fast for my eyes. As time progressed, I eventually came to using a GuHong with decent look-ahead and am (was) able to manage a 14 average.
If you're over 30 seconds, I suggest a type A-II. It's very crispy. It'll pop if it's loose. Personally, I'm a rough cuber, so the feel is great. I use an extremely tight A-II for BLD, just for safe-guarding pops (the reason being that I can pop just about any cube). It's great for developing look-ahead with a fast feel and swift triggers and all that fun stuff. =)
When you achieve faster times and you feel as if your cube is abnormally slow for your liking, upgrade.

tl;dr Don't buy the best cube first. Instead, invest in something that can help you develop essential techniques rather than focusing on pure speed.

Where were you when I posted my "Lecture to Beginner's" video??!! This is basically what I say in it, and a lot of people, (mostly beginners of course), trashed me because they don't believe it matters what cube people start with, blah blah, etc. I guess it doesn't matter if you don't care that your times come to a dead end, eventually, but if you want them to keep lowering, you need to start with a normal cube so you can build skill, etc. Then, when you get to a certain point and switch to a good cube, your times will show great improvement. No one cares though. Everyone just wants to be "cool" with the "coolest" cubes.

If you are going to video editing college they are probably going to have at least a Mac and most people go to college wtih Macs because of Apple's discount and because they are so productive. And Gates just come up and stole apple's idea by doing the, Buy a PC for college get an xBox 360 4gb. I don't even like to game so that doesn't matter for me anyway.

true. the email I sent ben about the sample never replied but he did reply on the email I sent yesterday. He said the guhong had the least lock ups.
And yes, the GuHong stickers will chip, too. All stickers will eventually start chipping.
Yes that problem, and I want a better cube. true the ghost hand can't reverse corner cut. Its good for a cheap cube. the email I sent ben about the sample never replied but he did reply on the email I sent yesterday. He said the guhong had the least lock ups. My original rubik's cube never started chipping.

>Arguing opinions
>thinking you'll change someone else's to yours
lololololol. Never change.
I'm just starting out the debate.
So.. the only reason you want a new cube is that the stickers are peeling? ...
And I want a better cube

I'm not going to wait for the sample, GuHong or Zhanchi? I think guhong but why is the zhanchi more expensive then the guhong?

My decision is clear, I'm getting a Lubix Guhong.

I respect your decision, but i honestly think you will regret it later if this is the only cube you are going to use for a while. You will notice that those who are bashing the Zhanchi are those who tend to bash any cube that is overhyped. I don't know why people are doing this, but it is true. The decision is yours and either way, any Dayan at or past the Guhong is amazing so it wont make much of a difference. While Felik's may have his last WR on the Zhanchi, all of his past were on the Guhong. Honestly though, if you stick with cubing for a while, you will probably buy the Zhanchi anyway because you will want to try it. I personally like to buy the best cube out there so that I won't have to upgrade later and spend more money.

And to yockee, my statements about the MF8 were not an attack at you, they were just simple truths. The MF8 has horrible corner cutting and almost no reverse corner cutting. I think that if this cube works well for you, that is great, but perfect turning style is not a prequisite of being a good cuber, nor is it something that all people can achieve. Put simply, it is not a very good cube for those who wish to have smooth solves every time all the time. Also, just because you have been speedcubing longer than me doesn't mean that you now more than me. I have been cubing in general for almost 5 years, I just only decided to start speedcubing in February. Additionally, time does not always equal knowledge, especially with cubes. Many older speedcubers that I know have very little knowledge of other cubes because they are stuck in their ways and or have had the same cube for a year or more.

I haven't bought it yet but probably buying a cube tomorrow. I'm still waiting for Ben's opinion on what cube corner cuts the best. I already asked him what cube locks up the least and he said guhong, if he says a zhanchi corner cuts the best I'm getting a zhanchi.

His answer should be the Zhanchi 110% my cube cuts at over 60%, two full cubes!!! its ridiculous. But don't think that I am a Zhanchi fanboy. I still can't decide between my Zhanchi and my lingyun. They are both great for different reasons. That being said, I will more than likely bring my Zhanchi to comps because i don't want any pops.

lol, you talk about your zhanchi like its your newborn child, come on, just let him decide for himself, and percentage isnt a measurement of angles

They both corner cut great. 1-2 degrees difference shouldn't matter unless you're so innaccurate you need a cube that cuts 45+ degrees. Nobody should tell you which one to get, go on youtube and watch some reviews, and decide what seems like your preferred cube

You guys are really harsh when it comes to correcting one another. People make typos all the time, do you guys really have to point out every single one? You knew what I meant. Rather than spending all of your time flaming and correcting one another, why don't you go out and get a significant other to spend some time with and let out your tensions. Jeesh
