[Unofficial] Haiyan Zhuang 3x3 BLD 30.47

Well, the NFL and MLB are both include international players, and I don't think that anyone can argue that they aren't the best league in the world in their respective sports, so I can see why the winning teams would be considered to be World Champions.

By that logic, the winner of the UEFA Champions League is the World Champion of football? ;)

I know this thread is a month old, but it still is a relevant topic... so:

Actually I wanted to bring myself into an argumentation with some people about why I take this as a world record by quoting you guys and replying to what was said but I got really tired of reading what was written about inspections times (think what a blindsolve really is about, compared to what a sheer speedsolve is) or that this is not a world record because it's the CCA... yadda yadda yadda.

You guys should just keep a few things in mind and that one (your mind) always open. Ok, I know that a lot of people in this forum might have a problem to be open minded because they just don't like new ideas or maybe are to gridlocked or to young to think outside the box or... whatever reason, it is the same result.
But why do I bother posting in this thread you may ask... it is because I got annoyed of some peoples ignorance and intolerance and so I wanted to add my two cents. Well, actually the only purpose of this reply is to make you think about things as they are. So some things may sound a little harsh and not represent my own opinion in detail and you don't have to discuss things, just think about stuff would be enough for a start (I talk to you, the illiberal people).
Oh, and one thing in advance: I am damn sure no one would prohibid you guys from taking part at a competition held by the CCA and if you set some records over there - as far as I heard there will be a great many of them (events, not records)... so plenty to get involved.

Ok, lets begin:
1: Usually a world federation is estbalished by "local" federations of different countries - with the WCA it was not like that - as far as I know, some people just founded it and from that moment on became the rulers. So other people could just make up another federation called "Twisty Puzzle Federation of the Earth" or whetever they like. There I no global judge who decides which is the one and only "legal" one.
What do I want to say with that? It was good that in the past the WCA made up rules that single solves are comparable. But nowadays, the community should be big enough, that every "cubing country" could have its own cubing federation which then could have chosen "delegates" (like any other officially accepted [I talk about by the state - not the WCA... there are rules for that in probably most developed country] association must have) and those people should form a NEW "WCA" with regulations that the delegates agreed to. We all are civilized and this should be possible. The way it is right now, malicious tongues could say, it is just a bunch of kids, following rules made by just some random people.

2: It don't see why it should be wrong to have an association in each country, that has enough people to hold competitions that are not just meetings of like 5 people cubing. They really should have all their own. And that is what the CCA is... not more, not less.
But at the moment it is more like Two countries: China, and the rest of the World. They both have their Associations that - at the moment - don't like each other (just keep in mind that it takes two to tango...).

3: This forum is an international one. As far as I know, nowhere is stated that only followers of the WCA are allowed or people who shares the opinion of the WCA... And that is good.
Why? Just think what this forum ultimately is about... It is people from all over the world who enjoy Cubing. So having some people just keep saying 'Official Rubik's Cube World Records are only official when the WCA was there. Period.' is just really really ignorant. It is not like that. There is more than one Association and they temporary seem to be in disfavour for each other.

4: This talk about 'You don't call a winner of whatever a world champion'... do you really want to compare apples with pears? Get things straight. In a car race it is a team competing with others and it does not matter how long they need to finish a round or the whole race - it is just about who was first in the end of the race. Same with Basketball, Football,... calling national winners World Champions and... ah... I am not getting into that... Difference is, they compete against each other - while in cubing everyone does the same - they solve a cube, concluding in differing times for every competitors, compared by absolute time. And those times you can compare to each other.
By the way, beeing a World Champion is not the same as beeing a (world) Record Holder - it is just "a" winner.

5: If someone does something in front of many people, having cameras around everywhere and even people that take care that no one cheats,... you can call that official.
I am not 100% sure about that, but actually you could not even call the WCA records "official" if you take anything literally since the WCA is not accredited by any government. Right? So stop being so meticulous about the word "official" because someone is competing in another assosiations competition then you are.

From our point of view, this solve was as official as a home made attempt.
Please stop to say things like "our point of view"... you are definitely not talking for me and my opinion. If you talk for a specific group or an association - name it, but don't say 'we think' or "From our point of view" on behalf of the whole forum as if you were granted by anyone.

Again: At the moment there is more than one Association and they temporary seem to be in disfavour for each other. So there are records accepted by this one and records accepted by the other one. Maybe one even secretly accepts the records of the other one - who knows. But overall, on the face of it and at the bottom line, there are registered, observed, comprehensible and timed single solves. One of them was obviously faster than any other official one (see adjectives of the last sentence) out there was before. So the only statement that makes sense as a conclusion is: There is a blindfold rubiks cube solve world record - currently held by Mr. Zhuang.

If you don't opine and think the time is not a world record, you should think about saying something like "For me this is not a world record because it is not achieved at a competition monitored by the WCA." instead of 'No way this is official'.
I for myself just accept any superior performance - no matter where, under whose monitoring it was done and no matter who did it.
So come on guys, broaden your horizon - don't be that narrow minded.

Of course not. The WCA was established at the beginning of the second wave of cubing (2003-today), when modern speedcubing was just starting out. In other sports you'd have a huge worldwide community before the federations are created, but in speedcubing this was not the case. In fact, I'd say the WCA helped create the worldwide cubing community that we now have and enjoy.

But nowadays, the community should be big enough, that every "cubing country" could have its own cubing federation which then could have chosen "delegates" [...] and those people should form a NEW "WCA" with regulations that the delegates agreed to.
I don't think it's good for the community to have several cubing associations with different rules, which is why the CCA's unfriendliness is a problem. For example: if some other cubing association decided that 3x3 BLD was far more important than anything else, and started doing "official" blindfold averages of 100, it would give people an unfair advantage against WCA cubers. If you let random people choose their own rules, some of them will choose rules which help them personally. Did you know that every year the WCA modifies regulations that the community wants changed?

2: It don't see why it should be wrong to have an association in each country, that has enough people to hold competitions that are not just meetings of like 5 people cubing. They really should have all their own. And that is what the CCA is... not more, not less.
Nope. The CCA is a hostile organization to the WCA, and as far as we can tell it is biased towards a certain group of Chinese cubers. Regional cubing associations have been around for a long time (see: KOII, CubingUSA, Dutch Cubist Club, etc.) and there's nothing wrong with that.

5: If someone does something in front of many people, having cameras around everywhere and even people that take care that no one cheats,... you can call that official.

No, official really just means "authorized" and in this case it is assumed that the WCA has the authority to keep track of results, because we trust them (for good reason). And we need to limit the number of solves people can do, because if we allow people to do 100+ "official" solves in one day, the records will be based on who got luckiest rather than who is fastest.

Please stop to say things like "our point of view"... you are definitely not talking for me and my opinion. If you talk for a specific group or an association - name it, but don't say 'we' think or "From our point of view" on behalf of the whole forum as if you were granted.
This is a social discussion forum; a post here is someone's opinion, not an official community press release. You have to take certain things with a grain of salt.

I for myself just accept any superior performance - no matter where, under whose monitoring it was done and no matter who did it.
So you accept all non-cheated unofficial solves. I'd say your point of view of what is "official" is not very useful at all, then.

@Eric79
I don't think we are narrow minded. I think your post is just very childish. (especially point 5). qqwref just answered you on several points.

When Olivér Perge posted "our point of view..." he meant from WCA point of view, as he is a WCA delegate. And even if it's not like that, I still think the same opinion is shared by almost everybody in here.

Have you asked yourself..."what did WCA wrong so that we need other associations or "groups" like this? ". WCA is open to everyone, has good rules that were built on the past experience and is present in many countries of the world nowadays. What if every banned competitor will start it's own association just because he doesn't like the rules of WCA or he was caught cheating and cannot compete anymore? I won't continue on this, as I have a feeling you won't change your mind either way. I'll just let others continue on this.

In fact, I'd say the WCA helped create the worldwide cubing community that we now have and enjoy.
That is why I said "It was good that in the past the WCA made up rules that single solves are comparable."
I don't think it's good for the community to have several cubing associations with different rules, which is why the CCA's unfriendliness is a problem.
Diversity leads to developement. Different rules? I said "[...]and those people should form a NEW "WCA" with regulations that the delegates agreed to." Or you could say "the WCA unfriendliness" - remember... it always takes two and it is always depending from which side you look at something - besides that, blaming others should never be a point when it is about finding solutions.
If you let random people choose their own rules, some of them will choose rules which help them personally. Did you know that every year the WCA modifies regulations that the community wants changed?
But wait - wasn't that how the WCA started making rules in the first place? Just saying... Ok, so everybody is learning over time, that is good. Ok, so having averages in the major events is ok, but in an event like blindsolving, where most competitors would agree that one try is not representative at all (since this is a lot harder then normal solving) - why hasn't this been changed long ago? I am not taking somebodys part, again, I am just saying.
The CCA is a hostile organization to the WCA, and as far as we can tell it is biased towards a certain group of Chinese cubers
"Hostile"? Are you serious? Did you get bomb threads or similar things that the CCA signed accountable for already? Again, not taking sides, but I think you wording is a bit dramatic. Regarding prejudice against some specific group of people - doesn't that mean that "you" have the same against them? And another thing: You too are talking for anybody here or how has this "as far as we can tell" meant to be understood? Guys... you really need to tell of whom you are talking - otherwise the rest of the world might just feel overlooked.
No, official really just means "authorized" and in this case it is assumed that the WCA has the authority [...] And we need to limit the number of solves people can do, because if we allow people to do 100+ "official" solves in one day, the records will be based on who got luckiest rather than who is fastest.
Oh, but what if there are people that don't accept the WCA as the only "monarch"? They may not have official times, places, whatever and call them what they are - official? Ever heard of the many boxing or martial arts (just random examples) associations? They all are "official"... they just put their name in the title and everything is good.
That 100+... I know you stretched it a bit, but what about the usual average of 5? It is possible to have them in other events. Not having the people to judge it or the time can't be the reason to not make it "legal". If there is no manpower or time to do it - their don't have to be a competition in that event. Competitions even could be split in different events per day? Look at athletics - their championships are days long... for a reason. Ok - yeah, here again just saying - but seriously, that all can't be a reason to keep things as they are if they aren't "good".
This is a social discussion forum; a post here is someone's opinion, not an official community press release. You have to take certain things with a grain of salt.
Sure, and I don't even want to discuss... I only point to things and - like said - wanted to make people think before they generalize and say "NO, that is NO World Record" because if they do so - they keep things really "tight" and not exactely in a way it would be good for healthy community. And additional to taking things only with a pinch of salt, they also should not generalize things and say "we can tell", "we trust them" or "we need to limit" without a statement on behalf of whom they are talking... if you represent the WCA - say it. But you definitely can't represent the whole cubing community... That is not because wanting to make it official PR stuff, but because of everyday rules of conversation.
So you accept all non-cheated unofficial solves. I'd say your point of view of what is "official" is not very useful at all, then.
Nice try ;-)... read again what I have written - but actually I don't think that you have to, you probably understood before already. Regarding that "unofficial" - they were official, official CCA competitions and this is why this is for me a world record as another one achieved at a WCA competition would be.

For me there really isn't anything more to say about it. I made my point and as mentioned many times by now, my intention was not primarily to discuss (which you can tell be my post count - I usually only involve myself when something really is bugging me), but trying to make you try to see things from a different point of view (which some people can and others don't) and express my opinion in the end... if one is not wearing blinders and taking more than a second to think about something, that should be possible.

Or you could say "the WCA unfriendliness" - remember... it always takes two
Except that it doesn't. The WCA has pointed out that it would be happy to work with the CCA to make more competitions in China... but the CCA is not willing to make an alliance. Plus, some top CCA-related people have insulted the WCA. So it seems like the issue is a bit one-sided.

in an event like blindsolving, where most competitors would agree that one try is not representative at all (since this is a lot harder then normal solving) - why hasn't this been changed long ago?
This has been brought up before; there are some reasons for not having an average, such as 5 solves taking more time than 3 (on an already time-intensive event), and having a slow but consistent person beat a fast person who got unlucky.

"Hostile"? Are you serious?
Er, yes, I am. I'm using the word in the sense of "opposing or resisting".

Regarding prejudice against some specific group of people - doesn't that mean that "you" have the same against them?
Why would it? My preference would be that competitors from all countries are treated equally, which is what the WCA does. Are you randomly reversing arguments to try to make me look bad?

Oh, but what if there are people that don't accept the WCA as the only "monarch"?
The WCA doesn't randomly declare things - it's a group of people from our community who make decisions in a reasonable and democratic way, but also have the time and experience to actually keep track of an organization.

Look at athletics - their championships are days long... for a reason.
A days-long competition would be fun, sure, but most cubers have school and work, and can't take off several days for a competition. So right now only the major ones (like a big regional/world championship) have more than two days. Cubing is still simply a hobby - not a professional sport, with the top cubers getting million-dollar endorsements. In fact, it's often difficult for organizers to get enough money to hold a major competition!

And additional to taking things only with a pinch of salt, they also should not generalize things and say "we can tell", "we trust them" or "we need to limit" without a statement on behalf of whom they are talking... if you represent the WCA - say it.
Why can't "we" mean something abstract like "the cubing community in general, as I see it"? I'm sure that for every one person who posts about how bad the WCA is, there are 10 or 100 who don't bother posting because they have no problem with it.

my intention was [...] trying to make you try to see things from a different point of view (which some people can and others don't) and express my opinion in the end...
You're allowed to express a differing opinion, but that doesn't mean you're right about it. From your posts it seems you aren't totally familiar with the history of the WCA and CCA, and the structure of a typical competition; some of the questions you ask are pretty clear to someone who has been following it.

A bunch of crap
Yea you are an idiot. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. You have no idea of the history of the CCA or their intentions. You obviously have not heard about the fact that Haiyan Zhuang, who essentially is the sole leader of the CCA, has threatened many innocent people who happen to play a role in the WCA. These are not simply "don't do it" threats, but "don't do it or else there will be consequences" threats. Not only is this behaviour completely unacceptable by any decent standards, it is illegal in every civilised country in the world. I'm talking about the actual law, and not just WCA regulations.

Also, I am creating the NZCA. I am the head delegate of the NZCA. Every single solve that I do, no matter where I do it, and no matter how I choose to time it, is an official solve. I can have as much inspection as I like and I can use the same scramble over and over. I am a hostile entity towards all other cubing associations. Regardless, by your standards every time I get faster than the current WRs should be considered a WR.

And don't try to say that you would not allow this because your own post has opened up this possibility to me. Feel free to eat your words and admit that you were wrong though.

If someone does something in front of many people, having cameras around everywhere and even people that take care that no one cheats,... you can call that official.

Like Gaétan?

When people say "official", they simply mean WCA - get over it. Feel free to read every "official WR" and "world record" as "WCA record" if that makes you feel better. If Ville did 25 seconds with the mighty Ron scrambling and the mighty Tyson judging, but outside a WCA competition, it would still not be called "official" or "the world record", and nobody but noobs would want it to be.

@Eric79
I think your post is just very childish. (especially point 5). qqwref just answered you on several points.
Radu, I really would have expected a more sophisticated point of view from you. Anyway, maybe you - as a WCA delegate - are just too involved to see things from "the outside" instead of taking it as you did (talking of that - since it was mentioned in here before, how come you were allowed to take part at the romanian nationals when being the delegate at the same time - or haven't you been a delegate back then?). Furthermore I clearly stated that "some things may sound a little harsh and not represent my own opinion in detail" just to give somebodys things for thinking - but it is interesting how some (not only you) do not understand what that means and take it as 100% my personal opinion. It seems that qqwref got it the right way...
When Olivér Perge posted "our point of view..." he meant from WCA point of view, as he is a WCA delegate. And even if it's not like that, I still think the same opinion is shared by almost everybody in here.
So then why didn't he say so? Ok, that is what I guessed, but there was no proof about that on his profil neither here nor in his WCA profile. Not everybody knows every WCA delegate or even his forum name - also this is read by people all over the world, maybe even non-cubers - or worse: People that take part at CCA competition... where from should everybody know who he his? I am sure you get the point. You know, "almost everybody in here" is just not everybody... So there clearly are reasons that someone says for whom he is talking.
Well, actually I thought about that question before and you can think of the direction where my conclusion went to.
I totally agree with you - something would be wrong if every banned competitors just made their own association. But what I wirte is not about Haiyan above all, I only talk about the CCA and that their results are official (in my opinion) too - it just happened to be Haiyan (who I know is banned from WCA - I actually know the story, that means also how the CCA was founded and how the WCA developed in the first place) who set a World Record at one of the CCA competitions and not someone else. If you - or anybody else - can beat this time, just travel to china, take part in one of the 25 competitions you can see on the CCAs website at this moment and set a CCA record for yourself - I'd say they would welcome you.
In my opinion it is totally ok that a land that has more than 1.331.460.000 citizens (in 2009) finally has its own Cube Association. It may have been wong timing and anything, but think about what they do for the people - sure, those "differences in opinions" of the two organisations are not the best thing for the cubers over there, but if I wanted to go to a competition, I would not care a straw if it is held by the CCA or the WCA - I just wanted to have fun with other people that I share a hobby with and have a good time that days. And as someone else said before, they actually do a lot for to make competitions happen (when they could also be held by the WCA, why haven't they before?). So actually the people over there seem to enjoy it - which is all that matters.

@Kirjava @JonnyWhoopes @Dene: Guys, your comments unfortunately told more about you than me - especially Dene, you do not really think that I even bother to answer you after you started giving names...

Salvador Dali once said "Who wants to get attention, has to provoke." - which I clearly did since I wanted... well, I told more than once what the purpose of my contribution was. But it seems like most didn't even waste a second on thinking yet.

@qqwref: "You're allowed to express a differing opinion, but that doesn't mean you're right about it." But none of you are in the position to judge about that since opinions are everybodys freedom to have. Regarding my knowledge of stuff - right, of course I don't know totally everything about the WCA and CCA, and the structure of a typical competition. But I'd say 90% of it - like anybody who is into cubing long enough. But remember the reason why I posted in the first place? It would not matter if I'd no nothing.

@Stefan: "Like Gaétan" - even though that one really made me laugh (as our humor is alike)... no, and you understood how it was meant. Besides that, the only thing that bothered me in your answer was the implication that people saying "official" simply meant WCA. That may have been ok in the past - but now there are two associations that have separated (by results and rankings - no matter why) competitions, and since this is an international forum that - most probably - CCA People use too, that should be not used synonymously anymore. I do not think that you want to explude those people...
Regarding the rest, that pretty much is what I wanted people to understand by themselves.

Eric, you seem to be falling victim to a bit of Confirmation Bias. You are ignoring many points being made by qqwref and others. You also seem to not have as much knowledge of the CCA and WCA as some others. Regardless, I will put in my take.

The WCA has and will always have their power given to them by those who support it. The WCA does not provide the absolute world record at all. Rather, it provides an even playing field for those competing. This allows and easy comparison of solves made during official WCA competitions. With this even playing field we are able to provide more accurate information as to who is better at solving in a competition environment. 2x2 single solves have come under fire lately due to the likeliness of there being a "lucky" solve as the fastest solve. People want it removed/reformed due to the uneven playing field which makes it harder to make comparisons. With the CCA, different regulations make for an uneven playing field for WCA competitors vs CCA competitors.

the problem is that speedcubing is still in infancy. do not forget this fact. as someone posted, modern speedcubing era is less than a decade old. there are people who dedicate large amounts of time and effort into this hobby and so they tend to think too large scale about it. some of these people feel that the WCA restricts them from competing. this is true to some people who are very passionate about cubing, however, this is not a professional sport. i am a judo player. ever since moving to the US, when i was young i wanted to compete all the time. there is a WCA like standard called the ISJA in which all competitions are hosted. although no world records are ever involved in a judo competition, the passion held by many judoka is the same as some cubers' passion. in japan there are competitions ALL the time, as judo is a popular sport. however, in the US, the popularity is much smaller. therefore, there is very little room to compete. so, of course, i would find judo schools all over the place and spar with their members for fun. nothing was official, although i was regarded as a good judo player. this is the same as the CCA. great, haiyan got a great time. noone is going to disregard that. its not official. if cubing becomes more popular, which we all hope it does, only then can we gripe. in my opinion, it is not yet time to grow in such a manner. especially if it is coming from negativity.

Eric, you seem to be falling victim to a bit of Confirmation Bias. [...] You also seem to not have as much knowledge of the CCA and WCA as some others.
What a nice way to express oneself for a 16 year old... Yes, of course there is always someone who is faster, more intelligent, better in anything or knows more about certain things.
The WCA does not provide the absolute world record at all.
Which ist the opposite of what I (not only me) interpreted in what people said with: That is not a world record.
With the CCA, different regulations make for an uneven playing field for WCA competitors vs CCA competitors.
That may be correct, but as said, everybody can compete at any associations competitions and have the same "chances" they have.

So, there is one new and huge thing that I learnt about this forum: It is totally impossible to just float things to get one thinking outside the box without having most people just taking them as opinions of the writer. Even if it is told more than once, that things are not necessarily personal opinions people cannot distinguish between one thing and the other. Yet worse, people start insulting and give other people names - I wonder since when that was allowed by the forum rules... Anyway, I learned my part.

...all said...
Good Post - I would sign most of it.

Is this sarcasm? The ellipsis makes it seem like it is but I would just like clarification.

Yes, of course there is always someone who is faster, more intelligent, better in anything or knows more about certain things.

This was just a nice way of saying you seem to not know enough about the WCA and CCA.

Which ist the opposite of what I (not only me) interpreted in what people said with: That is not a world record.

I'm not representing anyone but myself however I will reiterate what I said before: the WCA gets it's authoritative power solely by those who support it. The records made during a WCA competition have more merit due to the amount of people who support the practice of how official WCA solves are counted. If people want to call it 'world records', who cares? The records counted by the WCA are the records which have the most backing in both it's age and amount of people supporting it and it therefore has the most merit. This doesn't mean records made in a CCA competition have zero merit. Just less.

That may be correct, but as said, everybody can compete at any associations competitions and have the same "chances" they have.

I disagree; if one regulation differs in that blind solvers have 5 solves in one association and 3 in another, the solver competing in the association with 5 solves has a better chance, per competition, to get a faster successful solve.

This record is official by CCA regulations, but not WCA regulations. This make the solve "official" in some definition.

Firstly, how can we distinguish what is personal opinion and what is just something thrown out there? If you don't explicitly separate the two then don't expect anyone else to have a clue.

Secondly, I did not call you a name. I assume your name is Eric, so that is what I would call you if I were to call you a name. However I believe you were referring to my use of the word "idiot". This word was used as an adjective, that is, a descriptive word. I thought you might like to be informed of the status of your intelligence levels.

Thirdly, you have clearly demonstrated your complete lack of knowledge and competence with this statement: "talking of that - since it was mentioned in here before, how come you were allowed to take part at the romanian nationals when being the delegate at the same time - or haven't you been a delegate back then?"

I suggest that before you go on about making friends with the CCA you read this post, and others by Chris Krueger.

Until you have done the things I suggest you should not post any more in here.

Is this sarcasm? The ellipsis makes it seem like it is but I would just like clarification.
No, this was serious - I myself can keep me from being offensive. Ellipses are just what they are - ellipses.
This was just a nice way of saying you seem to not seem to know enough about the WCA and CCA.
Oh, really?! (Now that was sarcasm ;-))
I disagree; if one regulation differs in that blind solvers have 5 solves in one association and 3 in another, the solver competing in the association with 5 solves has a better chance, per competition, to get a faster successful solve.
This is correct and that is why I said "That may be correct, but as said, everybody can compete at any associations competitions and have the same "chances" they have." thus having the same chances as those that have 5 instead of 3 solves.

This record is official by CCA regulations, but not WCA regulations. This make the solve "official" in some definition.
That is all I said with my actual opinion.

Firstly, how can we distinguish what is personal opinion and what is just something thrown out there? If you don't explicitly separate the two then don't expect anyone else to have a clue.
Oh, I did that - it cleary says "in my opinion" where it is my opinion. Get your things straight.
[...]However I believe you were referring to my use of the word "idiot". This word was used as an adjective, that is, a descriptive word. I thought you might like to be informed of the status of your intelligence levels.
Well, bending words doesn't change things so you still called me names... you said "Yea you are an idiot." which makes this not an adjective... even if so, the word would be a different one - however, it is not on me to explain your own language to you.
[...] "talking of that - since it was mentioned in here before, how come you were allowed to take part at the romanian nationals when being the delegate at the same time - or haven't you been a delegate back then?"
You like quoting without context, do you? I asked this question because someone else in this thread (not me, look it up for yourself who it was a few sites earlier) implied that Haiyan should not be allowed to take part on competitions of "his" assocaition. So no matter what I know or what I don't know - the question itself actually is reasonable.
I suggest that before you go on about making friends with the CCA you read [...]
I carefully select my friends - no worries about that. Regarding reading - you still didn't get what I was talking about...

I just thought that it worked like this:

Felik's has the WCA Record for fastest 3x3 solve, and CCA has [whoever he is].
The WCA BLD Record Holder is Gabriel Casillas, and the CCA BLD Record Holder is Haiyan.

I thought it was just 2 separate leagues, and they each have their own Rankings.

WCA doesn't look at the CCA as official, and vice-versa.

The amount of people who are in the WCA and CCA, and back them up, is what gives them power and trust.
WCA has more trust, as they have been around longer, and most of the cubing competitions around the world are by WCA delegates. This is what I would say makes them more of a real Association, rather than 1 kid in his room, pretending to have an Association, making up his own rules, and setting "records."

Also, I hope that both Associations, WCA and CCA, can standardize their rules with each other.
