I need some tips to make me faster solving the 2x2x2, I am now on my way learning Ortega, but I think I only will be able to solve it in about 12 secs. So, any tips?

I learned the 5 PBLs and was getting sub8 without any practice (don't get me wrong, it wasn't consistent, but consistent sub8 averages were easy). I competed at Dayton and I got a lot of sub7 solves with ortega, a few sub6's as well. In fairness, I also used Guimond some of the solves, but not for all of them (maybe half).

Sub 8-9 is very possible without practice on Ortega. With practice, sub 3,4,5 times. First layer time is key though. First layer should be done in a fast and smooth fingertrick.
Yes, I ahve practiced a lot on it, and I am still in training. I guess it is a very good idea to be color-neutral so I aim for that. I only have to learn opposite colors.

Since you aren't making CE pairs on 2x2, being full color neutral should be quite easy. Do a lot of scrambles and just practicing making your first face. You only need 7 OCLLs, obviously. When you get good at making a face, use your inspection time to trace out the pieces and see what OCLL you have. Also be conscious of what PLL you have in D, so that way after you OCLL your PBL recognition should be quick. An easy way to recognize PLL is look for a bar or adjacent corners. If you have adjacent corners, you'll have a bar. The bar is always opposite the opposite corners. If you have two adjacent sides with opposite colors, you have Y perm. You can use the time spent doing your OCLL to watch a side of the cube that isn't moved in the last couple moves and get a nice glimpse of the PLL case for it as well.

Okay. I have to practice more at the first layer. I think thats the most important for me now.

Guimond can definitely be incredibly fast. I'm not sure if you saw the Srtega thread where DavidWoner gave some 2x2 example solves, but they were great examples with nice short solutions (usually like <8 moves or something then PBL).

Edit: Whoops, I put Ortega instead of Sortega.

Edit2: Oh man, whoops! That Woner typo was NOT intentional!

This for first layer.
Useful for CLL/LBL. Also useful for Ortega, just don't bother with permuting correctly.
Practice, first layer/side is sub 1 able.

Another thing: I see my times is going the right direction In a week ago I was 30 s avg. Now, I am aroung 15-18! I mean, thats twice as good! I may post a video of me solvign the cube maybe 12 times or somthing. I guess it is easier to give advice to me when you have seen me in action.
I guess my times will go down another 5 seconds if I learn all the OLL an PBL algs. I have currenly learn 70% of them.
