i dont think ive seen anybodt get sub 10 (correct me if im wrong) with roux

you're wrong.

Actually he was right, he hadn't seen anyone sub-10 with roux, of course after you posted that video it became false, but at the time that he posted, it was true.

Anyway, don't restrict yourself to just Roux & Fridrich, why not try Petrus or ZZ?

if u were saying avg of 12 ,
yes , i haven't seen any avg of 12 of roux solves get sub10..in vid i mean

well i think it depends on wat ever one you like but u should think about the bigger cubes too. Roux, as far as i know, is horrible on cubes with multiple layers in the middle so i think Fredrich would be good to learn if you are thinking about goiing onto other larger cubes, but it still is ur choice on the methods

Bigger cubes my point!!!
but for funn it is great

But since a lot fewer people use roux then your less likely to see someone sub 10 with it, i wonder what the results would be like if we had as many roux solvers as Fridrich.

i use fridrich myself but i like how sneakypandaman solves. petrus with EJF2L (i think thats the right one). i know that this thread is about roux and fridrich but im just making options for the thread maker

I'v been using friridch(2LOLL+ PLL) for a while since i got consistantly sub-30. But for me it was really annoying after a time. I wanted to know more about the cube itself and solve it in a way that really makes fun. I tried out petrus, heise, zz, like all the stuff that's possible, but what i found last was roux.
For me roux is the only method that has been developed in some kind.. perfectly. Using roux you've got freedom at the beginning building two blocks. You have few algs (as we know at least some people can sub20 it w/ 2look corners which means 9 alg.. and 42 isn't that hard, too). Additionally if you like M-slices you'll love roux.
I think you should do the same thing what every cuber did. Try out different methods and find the that fits best to you.

Problems occur with Roux on other events way too often for it to be my 'main' method

Can you explicit that ?

EDIT: I'm using fridrich, but I trully believe in roux. After the first bloc, you can solve the whole cube with no regrips. And a reduced numbers of moves due to the mix of bloc building at the begining (what is more effiscient at first) and CF at the end.

People already get 10.xx or 11.xx avg and roux is largely inexplored yet. I think that roux will get more interesting in few years, with more exploration and more documentation about it.

Based on the discussion on this thread, I think I will get 2LOLL and full PLL for Fridrich first. Then I will work with Roux. And maybe after that I will learn another method, or go back and learn full OLL. Thanks for all your help.

I hope you mean "explain."

Basically, it sucks on big cubes and OH, unless you use alternate methods or find sexy ways to do M-slices.

Also, you can only efficiently team BLD with other Roux users, unless you're familiar with other methods to a decent degree.

Ok, this is true for OH and team solve. I'm not sure about big cubes. Reduction sucks, but method like staddler are interesting.

That make no sense for me. You'll never get good time by changing method all the time.

Choose roux or fridrich and train yourself on it.

Reduction sucks but everyone who is fast uses it. Right. Also, don't doublepost.

Reduction sucks with roux, and nobody « who is fast » uses it. Quote are not here to make posts bigger, but to put what you write in the good context. i don't know if you don't gat what the context is, or what stadler is, but you obviously don't have anything interesting to write theyre.

EDIT: I've just seen the « join date ». I don't think this require much more comments.

I thought that having two methods would be better than one.

Working on different method help to improve your general comprehension of the cube.

But you'll have to choose one which will be your main speedcubing method.
