Hey guys,

I am currently trying to get my 5x5x5 times faster. I just got my V5 about a month ago but haven't had a lot of time to practice. I am at about a 5:45 avg. My cube feels "sticky" even after I have lubed it. I don't see how people can spin their V5's so fast. I have also done the V5 corner mod where I tried to sand down the corners to get rid of the ridges. Is there any advice you guys can give a new big cuber?

Also for edge pairing, I know the 4x4x4 edge pairing pretty well. My question is for 5x5x5 should I worry about pairing both wings at once? Or worry about getting just the center and one wing of all of the tredges then doing back and doing the last wing?

Thanks.

@Zaxef, you can delete your post now that cajuninms fixed the mistake.

@cajuninms, What do you use for lube? I use silicone oil, and my newest V5 can get a little sticky if I haven't relubed it in awhile. I suspect a dry silicone (like from CRC silicone spray) would be less sticky. With my experience, the V-cubes will be less stiff (and stick less) after some months of use.

Oh wow, ok thank you. Where can I find the good silicone sprays? Are they available at Wal-Mart? The only places I can think of near me to get silicone with be Wal-Mart or Lowes if it is in Lowes.
