[Help Thread] FMC Discussion

What is good for PDR? How many moves is a good PDR that is worth pursuing? I'm also interested to know how many moves a PDR would need to take for it to not be worth it any more.

Since a PDR is just doing EO on two axes and EO usually takes 3-5 moves for DR solvers, you could aim for PDR in 8 or less and probably find at least one on most scrambles

The issue that you'll find is that finishing a PDR is rarely efficient or straight forward. You'll likely have to try and solve as many pieces as you can while leaving room to solve the rest in 1-3 insertions of some kind. This is more or less the same stuff people did pre-DR except you're arbitrarily limiting your starts to PDR, so I'd only recommend this if you plan on doing insertion based/nonDR based FMC
