Unfortunately didn't get the mean, but I did manage to get a 9:14 single(went fast bc I'd already failed the mean but gotten a success). This would have been NR7, AsR47, WR171(NR5, AsR42, WR150 without the 31 sec pause).
 
Today is Tokyo BLD Spring 2025, the BLD comp in Japan the day before my first comp with 5BLD. And unfortunately, the 5BLD NR mean has been lowered from 18:54 to 10:59. This obviously sucks, bc I had a decent shot at NR on Sunday, but I think it's still possible. I won't be able to safety anymore, but I still average around 9 mins when I go all out so I can go a bit slower than full speed(either try to do this on every solve, try for 2 all out successes than a safety or try for 1 all out success than 2 fast safeties). The 4BLD NR single also got beaten, going from 2:14 to 1:44, but the mean is still 2:58 so I can still go for that. It's unlikely that I can get NR now, but I'll still go for it and congratulations to all the Japanese competitors who got NR today!
 
I'll do an update from the comp so far-

3x3- Bad 13.92 average, 10.07 PR single(cross mistake out of sub 10)
5x5- Two bad solves, didn't expect PR anyway
3BLD- 39 DNF, 41.63 PR single(8 memo), 36 DNF. Not bad I guess.
5BLD- 9:23.29 PR single, 9:41 DNF(5 centers or something), 8:06 DNF(3w). Even though I didn't get NR mean, I'm really happy with this(NR10, AsR54, WR177) and I also got my third official win!(I have 3 podiums now and all first place lmao). This was also Japanese NR debut as I got the 9:23 on my first official attempt!

10 mins after that I get another sub 20 fail but this time official 💀, 28.79 PR average and 20.05 PR single.
3x3 finals was bad.

Overall good comp and results!
 
So I have this sort of injury(?) on my left index finger where it hurts if I put pressure on it(since Sunday afternoon), hopefully that's OK by WSM.

I was having a look at nemesizer.com, and once my PRs update my nemesis count will go from 63 to 29, and my country nemesis count from 55 to 35. Some 5BLD records I would have in that region(all countries which previously nemesized me)-

Irish NR
Belgian NR
Norwegian NR
Turkish NR
Thai NR
Mexican NR
Chilean NR
Uruguayan NR
Slovakian NR
Slovenian NR

That's a cool way to measure how good you are, I might see how many countries I beated for skewb
Also, it seems that you beated Romania by a long shot with the 5bld
 
Turns out my 9:23 5BLD single is WR5 for first official attempt, so that's cool. Anyway I'll do an update on all my upcoming comps-

Weston-super-Mare Spring 2025(May 17-18)

Comp this weekend! My finger isn't completely better but I'll just try to ignore it.

3x3- I want a sub 10 single, sub 12 average and maybe finals.
4x4- Get a decent average, sub 1:03.
5x5- PR single(2:10) but probably not, idc.
6x6- Get a single or a mean depending on my strategy(30 mins cumulative with 7x7)
7x7- Get a single
3BLD- PR single(41.63), possibly podium if I do really well. Mean is unlikely with my success rate but maybe
OH- PR single(20.05) or average(28.79)
Clock- Just get an average and qualify for UKC(hopefully sub 8 single). Probably won't make finals
Mega- Somehow get out of having to compete
4BLD- Safety a success to qualify for Great Lakes and UKC, try to get a sub 3 single if I have attempts left after that(almost impossible for sub 3 but why not). Also might be tired after 5BLD.
5BLD- NR mean, if not PR single and win.

Stevenage June 2025(June 7-8)-

I can only go for the first 2 days, but it should still be cool, first comp outside of the UK! Also really want to podium bc there's gift card prize money and I want to become a pro speedcuber lol. I'll also get to compete alongside Stanley Chapel and Luke Garrett!

3x3- Sub 11.5 average, sub 9.5 single
5x5- PR single(2:10)
6x6- Make time limit(5:00)
7x7- Might not compete, time limit is 7:00
3BLD- Make finals with a mean in R1, sub 38 single in finals

Rubik's UK Championship 2025(Aug 22-24)-

First ever championship(excl Great Lakes bc not technically a championship)! I actually have chances to podium in 4BLD, 5BLD and MBLD so hopefully I can get that!(It would be really hard but not impossible)

3x3- Sub 11.5 average, sub 9.5 single
2x2- Sub 3 average, make second round
4x4(if I qualify)- PR(sub 55 to qualify so I doubt I'll make it)
3BLD- Make finals, PR single(whatever it is at that point)
OH- PR
Clock(if I qualify)- PR
Pyra- Sub 4 average, make second round
Skewb- Sub 8.5 average
4BLD(if I qualify)- Podium, really unlikely but I'll give it a shot.
5BLD(if I qualify, think I'm safe)- NR mean if it's still possible and I don't have it, maybe even podium if I end up with a fast single somehow?
MBLD(if I qualify, currently 16th)- Podium

Looking forward to all these comps, hopefully I get some good results!

4x4 was good, 49.15 PR single and 1:01.57 PR average.

5BLD-

So going into this round I had pretty low expectations. I had wanted to try to get my finger better(still not sure why it's been hurting) so I couldn't practice as much as I had wanted to. The venue is cold(especially my big BLD station) so my hands were cold as well. Because of how the round was organised, I had to use a harmonica holder which wasted a few seconds every attempt and was also really annoying because my hands kept hitting the bottom of the sight blocker and I didn't want to adjust it as it would have thrown me off. Anyway for this round I was going slightly safe for a mean(especially on memo)but not that safe bc of how much faster the mean is now.

Solve 1- 10:54

Memo was OK(4:30), but I had loads of pauses in exec and I thought I made some errors. I was fully expecting a DNF so it was actually really surprising when the cube was solved.

Solve 2- 9:26

This was solid, 4:10 memo and it felt good. Had to bring the cube lower because the sight blocker was sitting directly on top of the cube(I hate harmonica holders lol).

Solve 3- 11:56 DNF

Going into this solve, I planned to do more reviews to try and get a success, as I could get over 12 minutes and still get NR. Overall, the attempt just didn't feel great. Memo was 5:36 or something, and really early in exec I (thought) I made an exec error and the attempt was over, but kept going anyway. It turns out I had centers solved except 2+ when I started midge exec. Then during wings I made an exec error and fixed it incorrectly, so the attempt ended a DNF with 2 mistakes.

It's really annoying that I came this close to NR but couldn't get it. I still have chances left though, and a little more time to prepare. Even though I didn't get any PRs, I'm really happy with this 5BLD round. Hopefully NR doesn't get broken in June(at Kansai Odd and BLD) and I can try again in August.

4BLD-

It didn't help that this was a combined round with 5BLD, bc I was already really tired going into 4BLD. The judge offered to hold the sight blocker instead of using the harmonica holder so that helped though. So before the round I realised that my 4x4 main had a logo and was UV-coated so I couldn't use it(I'm so dumb). For the first attempt I used my terrible backup(RS4M), but for the final 2 solves the judge lended me his MGC(W judge). My plan for this round was to safety a success to qualify for Great Lakes and UKC.

Solve 1- 3:53 DNF

1:36 memo or something, bad cube, 3w

Solve 2- 4:58 DNF

Everything was bad, and I forgot corners.

Solve 3- DNF, forgot time

I made a wing exec error, didn't fix it correctly.

Triple DNF really sucks in 4BLD, now I can't qualify for Great Lakes or UKC.

Just did Clock, DNFed a 7.18 then a 14 DNF, completely forgetting about cutoff. I'm never gonna get a Clock average.
