Race to official 5BLD mean(bldcuber314, BVCuber13, SkewbIsTheBestEvent)

Rolled it again, twice(I now have 6 successes in a row for this session), I think I have a higher 5BLD success rate than 3BLD now. This mean would be WR74, AsR18 and NR if official! I also think I'll start doing more compsims to get used to 3 solves in one go, because the first solve in this mean was from yesterday.

does your head ever hurt?

I'm still grinding for sub 10 single, I did 4 attempts this morning. My memo averaged around low 4, fastest 3:56 but I didn't get any successes. My closest attempt was a 9:32 where I made 1 wrong slice move during wings(accidentally did r3 when I thought I did r2 because of a fumble). Hopefully sub 10 tomorrow!

Also quick tip don't do 4 5BLDs in one session the 4th attempt was not fun

Sometimes I wonder why I ever decided to main BLD... But I do all my 5BLD practice early in the morning which I find easier(Idk if I have more energy in the morning or something), and I also have no distractions.
In the morning you are more productive because you don't really have anything going through your head, that's why most people do their work in the morning

Finally sub 10 5BLD single!!! I've been grinding 5BLD every morning for this, huge relief. Also WR142, AsR38, NR5 if official, and sub UK Championship 2024 podium. I don't think that means I have a chance to podium at UKC 2025 bc last year had a slower podium, but I'm getting closer.

This thread is pretty inspiring. I’m here proud of myself for getting a 2BLD success and you guys and doing it with a 5x5. I wish you guys the best of luck :).

Thanks-I remember how proud I was of my first 2BLD success, good luck in your progression as well! BLD is tough(it took me over 20 5BLD attempts over a week just to get that 8:41(and all others were DNFs)), but it's probably one of the most rewarding events when you get PBs and successes.

So a comp got announced in Japan with 5BLD and it's happening the day before my first 5BLD comp. I can still get a mean, but if NR gets broken there(which it likely will) it would make it much tougher to beat for me, especially if it's from somebody much faster(there are a couple of Japanese 5BLD solvers who average 6 mins). I guess there's nothing I can do about what happens at that comp, so I'll just keep grinding and hope I get a chance at the record. This also gives me more reason to focus on speed, as the record might get broken to a time that's faster but still within reach. Ideally I want to be able to safety sub 12, maybe sub 11 solves by May. There's good news here, as my memo must have improved a lot- I found out today that my 3:25 memo in my PB single was actually faster than the 3:28 memo in the Japanese NR single. Obviously I need to work on exec though, as my exec was over 3 minutes slower(I don't want to try 5BLD 3s at this point bc of success rate).

Anyway, it sucks that NR might be broken before my comp, but at least this is good for the cubing community in Japan and the Japanese BLD community definitely deserves a chance to compete after so long without comps.
