Sub my PB, congrats! I haven't done much 5BLD in the past couple of weeks since I've been on vacation(found time for a 4BLD grind though), I should be able to practice again soon.I got my first ever 5BLD mean last night with a 13:22.37! Super happy about this as I've been going for it for a while now. This happened on cubers.io weekly comp, and times were 12:38.98, 12:28.80, 14:59.33 = 13:22.37 mo3
@BVCuber13 is an organizer???Update to the race: @BVCuber13 is organizing a comp that I'm going to with a round of 5BLD in 5 days
yeah! this is my second comp that I've organized, with the previous one being M Moves in Middlebury 2024@BVCuber13 is an organizer???
Good idea to go safe,Comp in 7 days!
Yesterday I did a 5BLD compsim and triple DNFed. The first attempt, I made one wrong move and DNFed. The second attempt, it was off by 3 + centers. The third attempt, I was completely exhausted and the attempt took around 3 minutes longer than usual, and I DNFed bc of one wrong move again.
Today, I woke up late so only did 2 attempts. I decided to add in another full cube review and to take exec safer(and pretty much everything slower), which has made my attempts take around 14 minutes instead of 11 minutes. Both were successes though, and I'll try another compsim tomorrow to see if I can get a mean in one sitting.
For the comp next week, ideally I could go very safe to try for a mean(keeping within a 45 minute cumulative) but it seems unlikely that after the Tokyo comp the NR will still stand. Hopefully it only gets beaten to a point I can still beat it, but I might not be able to fully safety.
Also the week from this Sunday to next Sunday is kinda ridiculous for Japanese 5BLD NR mean. The record has been standing for almost 3 years, and now in one week there are 3 seperate comps where it could potentially be broken. The first was today in Australia, it was really close(two 14-15 successes and a DNF) but unfortunately didn't get the mean. Then there's Tokyo on the 10th, where around 16 people I estimate have a good shot at the mean. If it somehow doesn't get broken there I have a chance as well. Even if I don't get the record, it's nice to see so many chances for 5BLD NR mean to finally get broken.
Also bought an Aochuang v6 5x5 double track and a blank center cap, hopefully I should get these in time for the comp.
Thanks, as for the hardware change I think I'll get a little time to adjust before the comp so I'll probably use the new cube(especially since I was having issues with the old cube)Good idea to go safe,
Do not switch hardware just when the comp is round the corner
GL for the comp.
Hope you get Japan's 5BLD NR mean
Solid post-mortem.Unfortunately missed NR mean(by 8 pieces altogether I think) but got a 9:23.29 NR debut single!
9:23.29- Planned for around for a time around 10:30 so did an extra review and memoed in 4:41, but then got a really fast exec. WR177, AsR54, NR10.
9:41 DNF- Slow memo, didn't feel good. 5 centers off I think, failed mean
8:06 DNF- This was pretty annoying. 3:00 memo, but forgot to execute one wing pair so it was off by 3 wings.
Overall good first 5BLD round even though I failed to get NR.
Not really any updates, should I add you?Any updates?? Also I'm considering joining soon (I'm gonna do a few attempts, spread out over a few days obv)
