Do you mean holding the twisted corner on front right on the top with the duplicate piece on bottom directly below it and doing R’ D’ R D until solved? That’s not working, is there another twist alg you’re referencing?
Ok, I thought that might work, but I guess I was wrong. Try using the R' D' R D twist technique on both the tiny top corner and the twisted one.

still no luck. I'm convinced because there are pieces that fit in multiple places and there is no color scheme you can get odd parities on this shape mod; cases that would result in an edge or corner obviously in the wrong place on a 3x3 with color but are not distinguishable here because there is no reference to tell which of the pieces is off. After all, the single corner twisted case I originally posted is not possible on a standard 3x3. I'll report back with any groundbreaking info should I find it.

Edit: This is becoming one of the hardest shape mods I have ever worked on. Nearly 100 puzzles on my shelf and this one's got me stumped.

Edit2: @DNF_Cuber good call with the tiny triangle corner. I realized it can be in position and have 3 different orientations and appear solved in all of them. I put my clearly misoriented corner and my tiny triangle in the top layer and just did beginner method a few times until solved. Cheers!

cuboids have always look really fun to me, which one(s) should i get? do any of them solve similar to a sq1?
some cuboids do solve similar to a sq-1. The one that I can think at the top of my mind is 3x3x4, which has CP similar to the sq-1.

3x3x4 is also conducted weekly in cubers.io comp, it is a fun cuboid to compete and get better times in.

Lots of good replies already. I personally had no idea cuboids and square-1 solve similarity. I have many cuboids but never been into squan; maybe that’ll change now.

I also recommend the 3x3x4. It is a great puzzle and you’ll learn lots of fundamental cuboid concepts with it. I actually have the old cube4U version and with a few drops of DNM it’s extremely fast and still a bit sandy. I can’t speak to other manufactures 3x3x4 but witeden is a reputable cuboid manufacture.

If you want to start with something smaller and cheaper, The domino 3x3x2 is a classic and the 2x2x3 is a great small puzzle despite being the easiest on this list to solve (its the “2x2 “ of cuboids)

I prefer non-shapeshifting cuboids myself, but 3x3x4 is the largest i can solve fairly comfortably, although I only attempt it rarely.

Cool! Ill just but a few cuboids, especially the 3x3x4 on my next order. Also sq1 is extremely fun, i love basically everything about it. Might even be usable as an e perm trainer lmao bc bottom layer

Is it just me, or do many cuboids seem unstable (except 2x2x3 & 2x3x3), lots of pieces simply coming loose or popping?

Well, I can now tick another puzzle as 'can do'... :)

Solved a 3x3x5 for the first time today - I didn't time it, but it must've taken me about 25-30 mins, with various cock-ups along the way! :p

I just got back into the 3x3x2, which I love, but I can't for the life of me find the method I used to use. It's layer-by-layer but for the last 1st-layer corner, there was 6 ways of inserting it (two of which are the standard 5-mover, left and right handed) which would solve the last layer corners, leaving just EPLL. There was a great website with all the algs, but I have no idea where it is anymore. Does anyone know the site, or better yet, know the 6 algs?
