One-Answer Software Question Thread

After I added the txt the program ran great but it doesn't solve the scramble it only solves to a solved state. I even tried putting nothing but 3's and 1's in the scramble edges just to see if it changed anything and it did not.

Could someone please look at this Ksolve+ def and scramble file and tell me if it checks out, it's one of my first made from scratch files for ZZ-Blah and it's WV case 6 on algdb to a solved position of the Pi OLL using RU moves. I tried running it and it would not show me any algs even though a classic for it is U R U2 R' U

Do you mean mingw? You don't call that via a .exe. It is a c++ (and a couple other languages) compiler (which means it turns the raw code into a program). If you followed the instructions in the video correctly, you shouldn't have to worry about using g++/gcc/gfortran etc. Just call ksolve++ yourPuzzle.def on the command line and it should create a file called yourPuzzle.exe which you can run.

The issue I'm having is that the Mingw file doesn't run as in the video. In the tutorial he clocks in and it runs but in mine there are just loads of files.

Extract this and run the .exe. It should autoinstall mingw for you

Open your command line hitting win+r, typing cmd and enter, then in the console that pops up, type cd path/to/ksolve++ and hit enter.

To create the .exe for you puzzle, type ksolve++ yourPuzzle.def and hit enter to create yourPuzzle.exe

You should then be able to run yourPuzzle.exe by just typing it into the console

Are you sure it isn't U2 R U2 R' U?

A little self-promotion. This kind of thing on 3x3x3 is quite easy to set up with my program.
