Wrm is great, but can be tricky to set up
Huanglong M is really tight OOTB, but after loosening is very good
Valk M is not the best, but almost everybody likes it so you can’t go wrong with it
Tengyun is great, but you must switch the springs
MF3RS2M can be very good, and is really easy to set up
Edit: I can’t do any direct comparisons with the Tengyun, because I lost it at my last comp:(
For me, you just pretty much killed any chances of me getting the wrm lol. Good to know. How hard is it to switch the springs? What springs? More info I have no clue about many aspects of setup

To switch the springs in the Tengyun, unscrew the screw, replace the spring, screw the screw back in. Do this once per center(6 times) The screws are the tight springs that come with the cube in the accessories box. The only hard part about switching springs is tensioning the cube evenly after switching them.

Ok. There is just so many choices!!

And why not the tengyun?

Edit: just realised my phone posted both of my replies. Sorry, I've done it before but my phone sometimes doesn't post and laggs and stuff. I hate it...

While it's unlikely that there will be a cube vendor at a local competition, I think that there is virtue in going to a competition and trying as many cubes that other people have as you can. While you definitely like the 356X from trying it, maybe there's a cube you haven't tried that you would like better. It may also just help convince your mom that it really is the cube that you want, and that you won't decide on some other cube later.

My mum said I'm not allowed to do a paper run (waking up early, not much pay) and my cousins are only like a year younger than me. I think. I just have to find odd jobs to do for my grandparents and other relatives... I don't even get pocket money!
Neither. But because I have heaps of relatives whenever its Christmas or my b'day I get heaps of money. I think everyone has given up on buying me things lol
