[Help Thread] What is a quiet 3x3 cube?

In the valk 3 there are air pockets under the squared off ledges of each corner. This does give the cube a more tactile and structured feel, but it also gives the valk 3 a very high pitched sound that I am sure would annoy someone who wasn't into cubing.

The valk power has fully sealed corners, hence ridding that sound.
You can make the regular Valk a bit quieter and lower pitched by doing the foam mod (stuff pieces of foam or tissue paper or whatever in the corners). Alternatively, swapping in the Valk Power corners also works, but you obviously need to already have both cubes to do that and you might as well just use the Power.

the YJ MGC is rather quiet, but not as quiet as a tengyun.
Thanks! Do you know of any extreme budget cubes that are fairly quiet? I work outside and take a cube on my breaks--a cube can get damaged pretty easily so I was hoping for something more disposable in the $5 range that won't bug people if I use it on my break.

The quietest extremely cheap cube I've tried was the kungfu longyuan. However, it's lower pitched instead of quieter per-se.

I hear it's really good with magnets, though.

Thank you so much! I think I'll grab a few, at that price point you really can't be too choosy so a lower pitch is better than nothing :)
