[Help Thread] 2 look discussion - OLL and PLL

Where is the best place to learn GOOD 2 look PLL algs. I cant find them anywhere. Thanks! P.S. I would like a picture of the case or a video.

Use algs from here, although they're all of the PLL algs, just use the T and Y perms for corners (adjacent swap and opposite swap, respectively) and the EPLLs (Ua, Ub, H and Z) for edges.

I average around 35 seconds and my Pb on 3x3 is 23 seconds, I use universal last layers and can do F2L between 3-15 seconds and finish white cross under 5 seconds I just need to learn how to learn OLL and PLL (That is not a spelling mistake)

Here's a video tutorial explaining all the cases, both recognition and the corresponding alg. Just work your way through case by case.
If you find that the alg shown in the video doesn't really suit you, algdb is a great source for finding nice alternatives.

I'm under the impression that in 2 look PLL, there's 1 algorithm to permute the corner pieces and another for the edges, making it 2 algorithms in total.

In a case where there aren't already 2 solved corners before you start the corner algorithm, there are some algs like x R' U R' D2 R U' R' D2 R2 (Aa perm) for the corners, but this algorithm only solves 2 corners not all of them.

So another algorithm is needed to fully solve the corners, then one for the edges, making a total of 3 algorithms (not 2).

Everywhere that mentions 2 look PLL has algorithms that could possibly require the step to use 3 algorithms - is it supposed to be like this? If not does anyone know corner permutation algorithms that will solve the corners in 1 algorithm regardless?

2 look PLL has 2 steps. You can do it with only 2 algorithms, one for each step, but then you have a chance to need up to four iterations of those algorithms (2 for each step) to completely solve PLL. If you want to never have to do it in more than two total algorithms, then you need to know 2 algorithms for corners:
x R' U R' D2 R U' R' D2 R2 x'
F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F'
And four for the edges:
M2 U' M2 U2 M2 U' M2
M2 U' M2 U' M' U2 M2 U2 M' U2
R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R'
R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2

I agree with JustinTimeCuber that there are only 6 algs to know.
2 look PLL is efficiently done in 2 steps not just doing 2 algs repetitively.

I teach them this way..

Should I learn the 2 alg version that cycles all of the edges and has a different algs for the corners, or should I learn the 4 different algs that cycle the edges to solve it without having to repeat the same cycle alg? Sorry If that was confusing

(yes this is pretty confusing and I don't understand what you're trying to say)

For 2-look PLL, you generally want to solve the corners first, then solve the edges. (Two steps, hence two looks and the name "2-look PLL".) It's possible to do it in the other way (edges first, then corners) but it's not recommended to learn that because the recognition is worse.

The corner permutation step needs two algs: one for an adjacent swap and one for a diagonal swap. There are many choices of algs to learn for these two cases, but the most common ones are T perm (R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F') and Y perm (F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F'). Learn both of these.

The edge permutation step needs four algs. There are two cases with three wrong edges and two other cases with four wrong edges. I think what you're asking is whether you can just choose to learn the first two and ignore the other two cases—you can, but this technically wouldn't count as "2-look PLL" anymore.
