I got my WuQue off of CubeDepot and I don't know if I got a bad batch because mine locks up and pops all the time. It also has the (loose = frequent pops and locks but fast and smooth turning, tight = no pops but slow turning)

What are your WuQue's (I don't know the plural of WuQue) like?

I'm currently using a nonmagnetic Wuque as my main; I loosened mine a fair amount, and it'll pop every so often (maybe once or twice in 100 solves), but not so frequently as to be annoying. If you're finding it too slow on tighter tensions, you can try using fast lubes to fix that.

Having minor locks is almost unavoidable on nonmagnetic big cubes, and you kind of have to deal with it. Said minor locks seem to be somewhat rarer on my Cubicle Wuque M, so if the locks and pops really are a deal breaker for you, consider getting some magnets. (I believe CubeDepot also offers custom magnetic cubes.)

I've taken your advice and tensioned and lubed the wuque with 3 drops of DNM-37. It feels faster and more sturdy, but I still get lots of lock ups. Is there anything I can do about this?

You might have gotten one of the old batch WuQues, next time you go to a competition try out someone else's and if theirs seems to have the same problems then the WuQue probably just doesn't fit your turning style.

I got my magnetic wuque off the cubicle, i spent the extra few bucks to have them lube it for me, it was great and worth it. I realy like the cube
It is smooth and does pop every once in a while, but not much

how many times does it pop/solve (if you know)

I got a Wuque M from the.cubicle.us I haven’t done a crazy bunch of solves 30-40. I’m really slow but it hasn’t popped and hasn’t locked up much at all. Hope it helps.

That's because cubicle magnets are stronger on the inner layer. If reversed, there would be no pops or famous wuque corner twists. I have three self made and haven't got a single pop or corner twist.

The WuQue is very stable because it has a lot of contact surfaces for the mechanism. However, that means there's more friction, so it appears sluggish. the right application of lube can pretty much fix that. It has the best corner cutting of any 4x4 on the market, so it won't lock up as much on correct tensions, which will make the solves faster.

However, for me, I've had to clean it out frequently and re-apply the lube in order to keep it from being sluggish.

There's no way it's the old(bad) batch unless you bought it within the first week after release.
