One-Answer 2x2x2 Question Thread

solving 2x2 inside edge pieces

does someone know an alg. that switches two edge pieces just using R U and F? I already know one that switces 3 from 2look PLL.

On the Da Yan Zanchi modle, the 2x2 is just a bandaged 3x3, with extended corners. On the stickerless version the edge pices are made colored.

2x2

Hi all,
I was wondering if a 50mm 2x2 is too small for my hands?????
Whenever I do 2x2, I find my fingers get all tangled. Is this a cube problem or a turning problem???
I am using a dayan 2x2 50mm, and was wondering if I should switch to a 55mm 2x2???
About how big should your hands be to switch to a 55mm, or is it prefrence????
Thanks

Unless you have really fantastically outsize hands, 50mm should be fine so I would say a turning problem because everyone else is fine with a 50mm.

It's probably preference, I use 55mm because it feels better to me. I do a lot of big cubes so 50mm just feels too small.

Easiest 2X2 method?

I did some research and it seems everyone suggests Ortega as the method to learn first. But I'm trying to get my 5 year old into cubing, and I want her to have success early and easily so she doesn't give up. I'm not looking for speed, I'm looking for easiest even if it's slow.

Thanks!

Brian

Try basic LBL. You make a layer like doing the corners on a 3x3, orient the top using dunes, permute the top using j perms or similar

I'm looking for a website to generate 2x2 last layer scrambles to practice CLLs. I don't think qqtimer is capable of this. Does such a site exist?

I think CStimer can do it.

Even if there isn't a specific mode you could always use Roux L10P

Indeed CSTimer does seem to have a setting for it. Thanks for pointing me to that site.

This is probably too much to ask, but you don't happen to know of a site which allows you to limit the generation to specific sets within CLL, do you? I've found one which does this, but its scrambles are simply the algorithm inverses and make it much too obvious which case is in question.
