How do I get sub 15 on 3x3?

How should i practice to get my f2l sub 10?
i average 17-18 seconds

cross:2 seconds
f2l: 11-12 seconds
oll: 2-3 seconds
pll: 2-3 seconds

i want to get sub 15 and have been told i need to do my cross+f2l in under 10 secs.

thanks for any help;)

Pause-less (near-perfect lookahead), almost rotation-less (insert in any slot) and efficient (good move count and ergonomic / finger-trickable) pair insertions wil get you there without the need for lightning fast TPS. I have usually sub-10 F2L or at least close to your times (11-12 sec) but my LL is absolute crap :)

work on pure efficiency for bad F2L cases. Some cases are just pure bad (like corner+edge in slot but flipped edge), but most can be done in 7-8 moves. Try to find an efficient way to do these harder cases and then drill them. Tracking corners is another good lookahead technique for F2L. Make sure you aren't focusing on the pair you are making, but on the rest of the cube.

To get a sub 15 average- its quite easy really, You just need to do 5 solves that average <14.99!
In all seriousness F2L lookahead is what really gets one sub-15 in my opinion assuming everything else is decent.

Some alternatives that might also help you get sub 15 if you don't like F2L, in order of Feasibility decreasing

(1) Cross practice + learn how to X cross, this can really help. Maybe try Roux to practice block building for X crosses.
(2)Learn full OLL + PLL (if not already done) and sub 1 Every Alg. Pros: makes last layer sub 3. Cons (may take a few months, Plus dem F perms be hard to Sub 1.)
(3) learn some VHLS easy cases, COLL, VLS, WV etc cons (won't help a ton).

(4) learn FULL ZBLL Pros: Sub 2.5 LL assuming your EO during F2L is real fabulous. Cons: (may take 3-5 years to fully master)

(5) FULL 1LLL. Pros: 2.5-2- LL Cons (may take 12-20 years to master so better start young)

(6) OPAL (Orient+Permute All layers) Pros: sub 2 entire cube Cons: ~43 Quintillion Algs so better get a computer brain.

(7) Make some Rice Pudding-Southern hemisphere style and hope for the best. Cons: If you are allergic to rice this is a bad idea

(8) Hope for a F2LLL skip. (F2L + LL skip). Step 7 may assist with this

From all your advice only option (7) is really practical but not useful at all :P
Better stay with lookahead and maybe some of 1 and 2 can be applied as well. By the way, the real problem with OPAL is not the sheer amount of algs, it's recognition what sucks. Also most optimal "algs" are a pain to fingertrick, hehehe. Talking more seriously, do you really think you can perform a 20+ move scramble backwards in less than 2 seconds? I don't think so.

My ll also sucks. I am probably going to learn something like COLL or ZZLL.
how can i get faster at execution of olls and plls?
