Actually, in general, organizers need to allow competing in both unless otherwise specified, and that has to be cleared with the board:

Article Z: Organisation teams may adopt optional regulations to facilitate the administration of the competition. The WCA Board must approve any optional regulations for a competition.

Z5) The organisation team may prohibit competitors from participating in specific combinations of events.

So it is perfectly acceptable and relatively normal for organizers to prevent competing in multiple events if they are at the same time, but by default (if optional regulations are not invoked), a competitor is allowed to compete in both, and the organizers must get permission from the board in order to prevent competing in both.

Would a Weilong with gold corners and silver edges be comp legal?

I can't see anything wrong with this as the regulations currently are. Although certain delegates may not appreciate it, and you should prepare yourself for an argument if you want to use something like that. I suggest printing out a copy of the "puzzles" section of the regs and taking it along with you :p

idk what you mean but it sounds like you want to different colors on a face which is against the regulations
"◦3d2) The colours of puzzles must be solid, with one uniform colour per face."

Try again.

3d) Puzzles must have coloured parts, which must be one of the following: coloured stickers, coloured tiles, coloured plastic, or painted/printed colours. All coloured parts of a puzzle must be made of a similar material.
3d2) The colours of puzzles must be solid, with one uniform colour per face. Each colour on the puzzle must be clearly distinct from the other colours.

We are trying to organise one this year in Dublin. Hopefully it will happen

Speaking of organising events, I asked you an important question the other day in PM asking how you managed to afford some of your past venues such as the King's collage chapel, (which going by the name is most likely going to be expensive especially being in an area like Cambridge.) You didn't respond. I know you wanted us to carry it on through email with James which to be fair we have been doing in the past but, either way you still didn't reply even though you came on the other day, and I am still very determined to help bring an event to Leeds, as it looks like I am probably the only cuber from this city who is even trying to make this happen, but just like with these other events, I don't think it would really be possible do pull off on my own due the to the room pricing being very high (been £500 a day at the cheapest) even with local the college campuses. (hence the question I asked in PM if you have seen it yet.) I have asked the union of Beckette uni that is in the city centre which is a lot cheaper then the metropolitan uni's onion, So hopefully I won't have to wait for them to reply back with the needed info. I have also emailed Allerton Grange as suggested by Joey, so I am also waiting on them as well.

Alex, I remember your message and I did respond. Let me check my outbox when I get home, but I'm sure I pressed send.
P.s. we've never had a competition in Kings College chapel.
