Do you mean like full CN nonmatching blocks? or like opposite nonmatching blocks? Or both?

There really should be a name for these. CN-NMCMLL OP-NMCMLL something or other. Doesn't actually make it easier to type either way/

Both. Hyperorientations doesn't work well with either type of non-matching blocks. I know the Hyperorientations page says that it works for NMCMLL. Really any recognition method "works", but the important thing is whether it works well.

The reason Hyperorientations isn't ideal is because the first step is to recognize the U color (same as the standard method). That is difficult when blocks don't match. My recognition method is the only one that doesn't have that problem.

How often do you guys use non matching blocks? I find cmll recognition to be 50/50. Sometimes I execute cmll and then see that the corners are diagonally swapped with different colors. Lse stage is fine though, but recognizing the L2 or R2 to finish takes getting usef to.

Never
Maybe it's worth it for FMC, but I have never used Roux for an FMC skeleton.

nm blocks should be like the last thing to incorporate in your speedsolves.

I use non-matching blocks often, probably 1/4 my solves. I personally really enjoy non-matching blocks and think they're a super underdeveloped part of Roux. I want to specifically work on a CMLL system that's designed around non-matching blocks since the LSE for me is fine. I'd love to see the calculated optimal movecount for second block with and without non-matching blocks incorporated.

I see. I don't really dabble with NMCMLL recognition. I just brute force it. While reading hyperorientations page, it made sense (in my head just subbing in U color with whatever color the next block is). I didn't think there was much more to it than that.

Amazing thing happened today. A.) I got a 22 second single and 27 average which are both pbs for roux. But B.) I was doing 2 look cmll and once the corners were oriented the entire cube was solved with no auf! Weird... Probably anyone? :P

How did you do?

Horrible for 3x3, okay for 2x2.
3x3, keep in mind its my first comp
17.xy it was really good for me
25.xy meh, a little worse than usual
32.xy lel messed up Second block
DNF- I was a n00b the timer wasn't on, forgot to check for the green light to go on.
23.xy- average for me kinda

for 2x2 I got
8.7
then I got 4 5 second solves 3 of them beating the previous one.

Didn't get to round to in anything but had lots of fun.
