how is it. does it feel fast, luby, loose, etc.
It's strange. When I felt it before euros it was really lose, we had to do wrist turns when scrambling because we thought it was gonna pop, but today it felt more clicky - maybe drier? Not as gummy for sure. He's a nice teacher for roux hahaha [emoji7]

Care to share any info? :D

Inb4 every Roux user goes home and tries to make his guhong like that :p. Regardless of preference.
On a less joking note, does the cube pop frequently? Maybe Alex just has really good control to keep it in line.

I also wonder this. I have two Guhong v2's and one is amazingly smooth and fast. The other one is sluggish and prone to popping, which is weird.

Like I said, it's an entirely different cube to the one before euros, but the state it's in now is a no pop agenda. And as for tips, I'm only sub 40 with roux so it was basicsssss. Also, his stickers are still pretty battered. Hahah.

Was this during a recent a comp in the UK (when you felt the cube yesterday or whatever)?

Felt like I needed some critique on this solve. Btw still in the process of full CMLL and I know this will be a huge step.

R2 U2 R' F2 R F2 R B2 U2 B2 L' D U' R' U B D' L' D L B

Inspec: y2
FB: r' U R2' F U' R' U R U2 M' B// Way too long but execution can be pretty fast
SB: U' M' r' U R' U' r U r' U M' U R' U' r U R'//Again very long but I couldn't really think of a better way
CMLL: (U2) F SEXYx2 F'//Nothing much to say
LSE: U' M' U M' U2 M' U M' U M' U2 M' U2 M2 U' M U2 M' U2//A little long again

So I guess my problem is consistently building efficient blocks?
I'm averaging 17s and 16s which is a slight improvement, but I am experiencing much more sub-15 solves especially when I solve slow and look-ahead. These would also be things to keep doing, correct?

Improve look-ahead and turning slow is key for sub 15. Move count is secondary. Just in case you are wondering, here's my solution with you block:
inspection: y2
fb: M U R2 U2 F M' U R2 B'
sb: M' U2 R U' R2 U' M' U2 M2 U' R
cmll: U2 L' U2 L U2 L F' L' F'
lse: U' M' U M' U M U M' U M' U2 M' U' M2 U' M' U2 M2 U2 M'
49 stm. Pretty ok. This is what i would do in a speedsolve. I dont have the patience for fmc. My lse is crap. My blocks and cmll are done sub 10 which is same as ryan but he is good at lse...

how good is your lse? not including transition between cmll and lse, lse should take around 3-3.5 seconds at your level.

3- 4.5. I rarely have any pauses in my whole solve, even from sb to cmll. My max turn speed in a solve is about 5. Duting lse, I always misalign layers and waste a whole second recovering, and sometimes I drop the cube or do something really stupid. I did a blocks average and got 7.5 ish and a cmll-lse average and got 6. I timed my cmlls and now they are all sub 3 but I only have like 5 sub 2s.

I'd say for me 10 second Blocks + CMLL is not good, because that would mean I would have to get a 2 second LSE to get a decent solve, which is unlikely. I might try filming an average, as I haven't done so in a while, then I can tk me my splits. But I'm guessing an average solve would be 7-2-3 or 6.5-2.3.5.

Ya thats what I saw in ur 12.xy ao 12 video. Mine is 7-2-4. Need to practice lse alot.

I new d to film a better ao12 soon. I've been trying to figure out my weak points in solves; if I film I think I can better pinpoint weaknesses then try and strengthen them -- like the techniques of "deliberate practice."

from looking at your video, you usually have a big pause between first and second block. a lot of times you are turning the cube around to look for your first pieces in second block. reducing that transition time might be the easiest way to improve a couple deciseconds.
