I am going to buy a new speedcube. I know that I should post my query in this thread But, I want to know what other fellow Roux users prefer, That's why I am posting here.

Can you all tell me what is your main cube and why do you prefer it? so that I can get an idea of what cube to buy.

P.S: I really love ZhanChis and hate the way a FangShi feels. I haven't used any MoYu 3x3 other than YJ SuLong (I have an AoSu and LingPo, though).

I use the mini ShuangRen for Roux. I prefer small cubes, and the mini ShuangRen's slices are the same size a 57mm cube, meaning that doing M turns is much easier compared to other smaller cubes.
But if you hate the feel of it, then it probably isn't the best cube for you :p

what is the optimal average number of moves to solve the first block for a given block color scheme? In other words, no color neutrality. From looking at what http://laire.fi/jarcs/ comes up with, it seems something like 7 moves.

Does this mean, for example, green or blue first block with white on bottom? Or does it mean just green?

Ok, but how can I reduce the move count? Watch example solves?

looking at example solves helps teach you tips and tricks. but it doesn't take too much thought to figure out most cases. Just try to keep in mind that there is almost always a good way to solve each case. experiment how M and r moves can improve your efficiency. For first block, do a lot of untimed infinite inspection solves. There is almost always a 8 or less move solution for any block you're using, so try to find it.
