[Help Thread] ZZ and ZB Discussion

Hello how do you plan eoline in 15 seconds ? I can't do it. I need 30 seconds to plan my whole eoline

Take 30 if you need to. Eventually it gets easier to find edges and figure out how to orient them all. Then you just add on predicting where the line edges end up. So long as you k ow where they end up after EO its easy to make the line.

With EO you start to see there's only so many ways the edges can be in, and you'll start to see a pattern in how they're arranged and how to orient them. You'll get there. I BELIEVE!!!!!

ZZ OH Tips

I have an average of 50 second OH solves with basic ZZ(OCLL+PLL). How could I improve my times with OH. (Also what is an efficient way of doing F and F'?)

I switch to roux and switch back again to zz. Really i don't know how to plan eoline in 15s specially when it has 10 bad edges

I'm no ZZ user, but you could just put the 2 good edges in the S-layer and do F and B. after that you will only have 2 bad edges left. (There are probably better ways too :P)

And don't try to track bad edges if you have ten of them. Track the 2 good instead and you know that all others are bad...

Hello, I'm sub 25 now but i can't still plan some eoline in 15 seconds. Any tips to get faster time ? Do I need now to learn Y-axis neutrality ?

I would recommend using Y-axis neutrality and switching to it now - the longer you wait, the harder it will be to switch - as for planning the EOLine, do some EOLine BLD averages.

Did you try it doing in BLD ? How effective is it ?

Um, I never really did it BLD until I could plan it out pretty well, honestly. However, I imagine doing it BLD would help because you are forcing yourself to plan out EOLines over and over again so eventually it will become much easier.

I don't recommend doing BLD eoline. It subconsciously encourages you to separate your solve into distinct stages, which is what inherently causes pauses after and "braindeadness" during pre-inspected solve steps. It also encourages you to inspect for eoline as fast as possible, valuing easy to plan eolines over move efficient and otherwise more beneficial variations.

I recommend you practice solving eoline+2x2x1 block in one fluid motion. Take as long as you need to inspect.

I agree with your advice after you can plan an EOLine within 15 seconds, but until then, I think it is still effective to do EOLine BLD. Once he can do EOLine BLD, it will improve his transition automatically as long as he makes sure he's consciously looking for first block pieces while executing.

I'm inclined to agree with uva here. Having a planned EOL should help get you started and then you can start trying to find and plan more pieces since it takes you less time and effort to find/plan your it. At least you'd have EOL and then search for first block while executing it and be able to build from there

Currently changing to ZZ-wv and maybe ZZ-c and by January I will be using it as my main method instead of cfop.
I think it'd be better to learn SV and WV, and maybe from different angles. There'd still be less cases than ZZ-c. 27*2*4=216 for SV+WV from every angle, 27*21=567 for ZZ-c from one angle. And you have to generate more than 500 of the algs, because only 54 (SV+WV) have already been made.

Alright I have some questions about the ZZ method... first of all would wv and sv benefit you if you restricted your self to always solving the bottom left pair and the top right pair so that way you would always have the same algs for wv and sv you'd just have to do the occasional cube rotation to solve the top left. But with this significantly damage the efficiency of the zzf2l? The only reason I proposed this is because it would be alot more reasonable to learn the cases from one angle instead of four. On to my next question since I'm fairly new to zz how do you usually solve f2l do you guys always do one block than the other or will you make a 2x2x2 block on when side then the same on the other if it's easier. anyway any feed back you have will be greatly appreciated and I'm really curious to see if my wv and sv idea is good or if it's just nooby and gave you guys a good lol
