Why have there been no WR's lately?

They are WORLD RECORDS and those are really difficult to beat, also as CatSharked said earlier we might be close to the fastest possible times (the WR for 2x2 is 0.47, less than a second!).
I think that the only way world record frequency could be increased would be if a new method was found that could solve a puzzle faster than ever before, or if lots of new skilled people were introduced to cubing and eventually got insanely good at it because of natural potential (even better than the current world record holders, who are insanely skilled).
