When should I start learning OLL/PLL?

I'm currently averaging around 40s right now with 2-look OLL and 2-look PLL. How much faster should I get before learning full OLL and PLL, and which one should I learn first?

PLL first (most people will agree with this)

Just learn them both whenever you want.
It's really up to you there is no right or wrong time to learn them it's just when you have the time and energy to learn them

If you are comfortable with all your 2 look algs you are ready to learn more.

Learn these PLLs 1st - E, Ns, V and Y.
That will stop you from having to do 3 PLL algs,
which will improve your average and make you feel like you're making progress.

Then learn your Gs. They are all very similar and occur 2/9 solves.

That will leave you with just a few PLLs left to learn.

Once you've got them all down just start working your way through the OLLs.
Badmephisto's site is great for this.

Learn T and R, because they're awesome. Learn J, then use it to do N. Two J perms is really fast to execute (then again I spent a whole afternoon perfecting it).

My theory was to just keep learning algs until I had full 2look LL, so I'm nearly done learning them despite having an average in the 40s. I don't like the idea that you have to be sub20 before learning the OLLs, but time will tell.
About the PLLs, don't leave the Gs till last like I did, they appear all the time and are much easier to recognise and perform than you'd think. Also you can save a lot of time if you just do R J U A etc left as well as right handed, saves memorising completely diff algs :)

Also how does the j-perm for N work? I've heard it before but couldn't find the alg.

learn full PLL after you learn F2L. F2L takes a long time and a lot of practice to get fast, so start it as soon as possible. Learn OLLs after u finish both of those
