What was your first ever timed solve time?

Mine was about 30 minutes, back in 1981. I had just finally solved it for the first time after spending about a week working on it. I couldn't resist immediately scrambling it again and seeing how fast I could do it. I just looked at a clock and started solving; I don't remember the exact number of minutes, but it was right around 30. At the time, I still had a problem with not being able to twist the last two corners if they came out twisted wrong, so I would simply rescramble if I got that case and hope it came out better the next time. :) I did all corners first, then all edges, so at least the rescrambling came early in the overall solve. It took me several more weeks to figure out how to reliably twist the corners.

I can't quite remember but I think the first timed one was somewhere around 5 minutes or something.

I didn't time myself until i had learned the beginners method completely. By that time, I also had lubed it already, so my first time was about 2:30. After I've practiced a while (i was doing my intern by that time, so I had plenty of time on the train), I got down to 2 minutes pretty fast. I remember my first sub-2, because I competed with a Pan Pizza ;) So I inspected it, and started with the microwave set at 2:00, and was done with ≈ 20s left. Now it's been two months (i think) since i started, and i average 45s.

I lol'ed so hard. Mine was about 5 minutes but my first timed solve without an alg sheet was 3-ish

First week of December 2010. Had just finished watching Pogobat's tutorial on YouTube and my first cube arrived the day before. It was 1:30 or something like that.
