The Uber Monthly 3x3 10,000 Cube Marathon!!!

How many did you lose?
I lost 600 on an army camp with my school. I accidentally reset iitimer. Either start over or press on. Missing solves early on isn't too bad. Missing 600 with 3 days left was terrible for me. Plus I was on the army camp so only had time at night...

I had to quit. My browser crashed and I lost all my times. I tried to recover them but there was no success. Guess who switched to Chrome :)

It doesn't really matter if you have the solve times to prove it, we just care that you actually did them. I would still count them if I were you Cheese11, if you did them then we trust you. There are no awards for doing this, it is just a fun personal challenge.

Challenge accepted.

I'm going to try and have this done before Star Wars Day (May 4th). I didn't actually expect it to be May 4th then, it just kind of... happened.

I'll come back and edit this post later today once I've reached my goal, then I'll keep going until I say, "screw it, that's enough for today", and edit it again. Sound good? EXCELLENT.

Let's do this. *opens excel and official scrambler*

2.5 seconds? what is your average now?

Lol, 2-2.5 seconds or so ya, and that is a hard question to answer right now... In the past month I have learned R-OLL, 2-side PLL, about 30new f2l algs from quite a few angles, changed my fingering of many of said f2ls, incorporated thumbs into my solves and changed the order of my looking ahead as well as learned a few different OLL s for OLLCP. If i did an average right now it would probably be like 13 or 14 because of this, but I was pushing mid 11 seconds averages on a good day; getting pretty comfortable with sub 13 and sub 12 about 2/5ths of the time. Again, now i would be much worse.

The 10,000 solves thing helped soo much in so many areas though because I really was strict about my method for solving: it gave me extreme familiarity with my method, increased tps, increased lookahead ability (especially from cross to f2l), complete mastery of the algs I knew at the time, and most importantly confidence that I could solve the cube well. I just realized how easy solving this thing was and it made me feel so much more relaxed as I solved which resulted in better times. I REALLY RECOMMEND YOU DO IT, BUTTTT I would say you should DO IT AFTER YOU HAVE DECIDED UPON THE ALGS, FINGERINGS AND F2L CASES YOU ARE GOING TO DO, BECAUSE THIS IS A PERFECT WAY TO MASTER THEM. I actually might do it again in a bit once I re-solidify my method and algs.

Ok thx, i will do it, after i have finished learning my new olls and plls, i have learned full fridrich one time, bit i hate some of the plls and olls i use, maybe i will learn different olls for different angles and before im starting with the 10 000 cube marathon, i will watch your video about 2 side pll recognition, because i can`t solve the LL under 5s although im averaging about 13-14 s..., especally my pll recognition is very bad...
What is R-Oll? And do you think the OLLCPs which are avoiding the diagonal corner swaps would be good to know? 57 algs and you will never have a diagonal corner swap :)

First of all, you should really try and make sure you get good OLLs/PLLs, so make sure to check out Breandans vids: OLL- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqCm...DvjVQa1PpcFPG-1wc7AjBRFIFvSUdzjskJKIG0hi_WcQ= PLL- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWyj...DvjVQa1PpcFPG-1wc7AjBRM-8OzmlwLKJn6XeZ1Zfvl4= He has some great vids, although he often regips unnecessarily in OLL IMO. As to the multiple angles things, I say completely, I am actually finishing up my last few OLL's which I don't have a U2 angle alg for and I can't wait to be done with it. Doing this will really help in the long run for speed because if you can get them all the same relatively then you can just always do a U or something for OLL which will make things faster. R-OLL is a bit tricky to explain, but it is basically just OLLCP without the CP, so you predict your CP while doing OLL. It is just another step along eliminating the pause between OLL and PLL. As to the OLLCP stuff I would say it might be an interesting idea, although you would be hard spent to find 57 algorithms that are FAST and have different effects on the corners. For a lot of the cases though something like a FRUR'U'F' and then the next case can work pretty well. I don't do this, but you could if you wanted. I would say it definitely doesn't hurt to not have ENVY, but then if you have to do a U2 and then the alg when you already know one algs from one angle then it seems like a waste. I think it is just better to know an ENVY is coming and prepare, hence why i want to master R-OLL+ 2 side PLL recog, together they make recognizing PLL a snap. Just my two cents though.
